yup
yup Yes and no....last time was the Headhunter Driver. In ATL it was a VAMP, in SF it was mini subs. Last year was the first time it was a figure. Every other year it has been a small vehicle with the exception of the HISS and VAMP. It is one per boxed set if I remember, and they are free. Expectations should be kept low on the freebie. NO....the Convention Souvies are NOT free. Last year we had two vehicles with drivers and a 3 pack. It all depends on what the club can find tools for. Sometimes it is more, sometimes it is less (ie no Tanks in ATL). A hearty pat on the back for making your first con and since you are a n00b, you will be buying the drinks - so free drinks for us. Not always vehicles. Yes, they are expensive (ie 3 pack is $65). They are limited to a couple hundred each. Typically we don't know until they show us at registration time. You can buy them immediately once you get your set and badge. One piece of advice - buy them as early as you can. Do not hesitate. The dropped figures (this year will be 12") are always for the kids. You can buy your own at the club store or get on the list of voluenteers to throw these. Nope, there may be clarity a little here, but there will always be confusion. How much (ballpark) would you suggest having on you in cash for the exclusives? $200? $300? |

SWAT 3 Pack $65 Hotwire with Mech $45 RTV w/Bullhorn $75 T Shirt $20 TOTAL $205 But keep in mind there is no way to know how many and how much exclusives will be. Not to mention that they also bring a long list of items from the Club Store that are available. I didn't list any 12" stuff either. |

Do you think the drivers for the vehicles will be done in 25th style? Obviously no way to know, but just guessing...?

I would love it if you guys and gals that are going could take a HUGE amount of photos of everything there! I can never afford these things and would love to see everything there. If you could do this for a poor B#stard. That would be just freaking awesome in every way! Some videos would also be pretty sweet!
Just a request. Thanks in advance if you can. |

Yes. From what I've read on the Club site all the figures will be 25th style. You might check that board. Some negativity about the choice to do 25th style.

Not to worry, I always take and post pics of everthing that Hasbro brings in to show off. My business partner would strangle me if I didn't because he wants to see too, and the sooner the better.
As for yoru questions about attendance, most have been answered, but I'll try to lay it out in simple bullets: - To get the discounted prices on the club premiums, you must be an "officer level" member. You can do this at the same time you buy, and get the discount prices. - You do not need to buy any premium packages if you just want to attend and see the show on Satruday and Sunday . Entry is usually $10, and your allowed in during regular show hours and can usually go to most of the seminars/panels. To make sure you can attend all functions (early bird sales on Friday, dinner on Saturday and all free functions) you must purchase either a Sargeants package, or have someone add you as an aide. There is a limit of four aides passes per box set, and I believe that the club requires that after a certain number that they be family members. - Con premiums (outside of the box set) are usually not known until the Thursday night registration lines open up. Brian gets out a megaphone and tells everyone in line what they are. Prices for these are not posted until that time, but a safe bet is to allot about $250 for any additional premium item. - The bonus freebie item that usually comes with the box set, is only available if you attend and pick up your Con set in person. In the past it has been at times a vehicle or a figure, and most likely we won't know until that Thursday. - The lines for the club store are usually long, so be sure to plan to wait a while. iPods are a good idea, as well as using cash for payment to speed things along. Occasionally there have been issues with the CC machine, so better to be safe than sorry. Also, don't wait to get your cash at the hotel ATM, as it's a safe bet it will run out sometime during the weekened. - Room to Rom trading is an "after sales floor" way to keep shopping. There is a bulletin board posted in a common area where you can leave your room number for people to call on if you have stuff your bringing to sell or trade. I'll have my full store inventory there. - At this particular Con location, Union Station is right across the street with a small underground shopping center, and some restraunts. In particular is a good place to go that actually bottle their own root beer and cream soda on the premises, and it's got good chow at reasonable prices. The hotel has 6 restraunts on the premises including the skyline. Check them out on the website. Plan to get some BBQ while your there as well, since KC BBQ is known worldwide as some of the best. - There was (the last time I was there) a splash fountain just a block or so from the hotel, so if your kids are coming you may want to take them to do that. Also, the showroom floor (provided we are in the same wing as 2001) has restrooms and all the amenitites you might need during the day so no trekking back and forth. The pool is outdoors, and elevated off the ground, so it's worth a look. - Make sure you bring anything that you might possibly think your going to need. There are no WalMarts or anything like that to pick up supplies at in the downtown area (at least not in 2001), so don't forget your shampoo, toothpaste, chips, beer, booze, sodas, or you'll have to pay the hotel store price for that stuff. Personally, I'm trucking up two cases of Shiner Bock to live off of while I'm there. I'll add more to this list as I think of it. Last edited by Alyosha; 05-08-2009 at 02:51 PM.. Reason: added more |

Alyosha, not only do you make amazing molds, you are a wealth of info man. I'll be taking you up on that Helmet deal soon, and I look forward to meeting you at the con.
I'm booking my room in a few minutes. |

Not a problem chief. As I remember more stuff about the previous KC con, I'll add it to this thread.
