The Quick Kick was $55 and had a limited run of 60 figures if I remember right. (Which still seems better then Target distribution). I saw a custom wooden headquarters that had a door big enough for medium sized vehicles. That was $800 with all the dio pieces included. I thought there was a foldout cardboard one somewhere but didn’t have much time to search for it.

For the most part, I think it was a well run convention as a whole. But as this was my first big show/convention I don’t have anything to compare to. I was able to make contacts with many venders. The guys at Crowemag Toys, the Toy Box, and especially Destro’s Toy Den were great. At Destro’s, I was able to snag many parts for cheap to help complete multiple vehicles and my headquarters jail. I felt so bad when some kid knocked over a banner and spilled a bunch of Destro’s vehicles all over the floor. I hope none were broken.
I definitely recommend buying the early access tickets for Friday night and Saturday. That allowed me first dibs and some good deals on a lot of great stuff before the general public picked over it. I met and spoke with Ron Rudat and Brian Cummings. They were nice guys but passed on the autographs ($40). I settled for a quick selfie with them in the background as I walked by. I would rather spend my budget on chipping away at my collection needs. Same goes with the art work, which was incredible for the most part. And I definitely recommend setting a budget for youself, and sticking to it. I had to walk away at the end of Saturday after I emptied my wallet. There was still plenty I wanted to buy. But I told myself there is always next year! |

I had a great time with my kids at JoeFest but I am VERY tired after the long drive home. Are there any similar toy-centric conventions closer to Michigan? I seem to recall COIL Con in Ohio? Anyone know if that might make a return in the post-pandemic times?
I used to go to the Motor City Comic Con every year but stopped a few years back. Maybe I'll start that up again though we have our own comic convention in Grand Rapids now. I've been to that once or twice.

I finally got around getting my Joefest Haul together!!! I was able to get everything on my list except an FSS Payload. Most of this haul is for Customs, but I couldn't pass up a 25th Fang, and I was able to complete the Rank n File series.
![]() Do you all get everything you wanted at Joefest? Let's see it!!!
