Hahaha, every time I snap a pic and really notice just how thick the dust is! Its kind of a "build as I go" thing, though, so at some point, I'll add some. Right now, the focus is on the center-top diorama. It's been a far more challenging project than the lower.

I think that I will also need to take a gradualist approach. We had a finish carpenter work on some IKEA bookshelves to make them look like built ins and I will end up doing something similar with these after a while.

Display looks awesome Sataninjaku. the top one is already looking good in its rough state. The water effect for the hydrofoil is excellent. I've been doing a lot of dios lately for my shelves. I'm curious also to know more about your lighting display. is it one strip you are running behind everything? I might switch up my lighting

If anyone is near enough to Rhode Island to pick up my current cases, I'll let you have them cheap.

I am slowly upgrading my display space by switching to deeper cabinets. What I found useful is saving the glass from the Detolfs as that was way, way, way cheaper than trying to purchase new glass or acrylic. I could then build MDF cabinets and re-install the glass panels as doors. I think these two cabinets used side-panels from a pair of old Detolfs to exactly fill the space I had available (so I still have two fornt doors and two back panels for future cabinets). I picked up new cabinet hardware off AliExpress to get those double-spring loaded magnetic catches at the top.

Nice looks good. I add a bunch of deeper shelves for vehicles and Haslabs. I don't have doors on mine but I have been looking into it. I would like to use museum glass but way to much money

I'm fortunate in having a basement. If I didn't, I'd be SOL.

I've been looking at acrylic prices and they are obscene. I might see if I can work with the glass from an old storm door instead.

I've still got the cabinet at the base of the stairs until I get the cleat totally figured out. The whole thing is too heavy to try and mess with on the stairs. |
