Hello all, I hope you don't mind me plugging eBay sales but it's for a really good cause and in the memory of a really great guy.

A good friend of mine, Transformers/GI Joe collector and one of the central members of our little pub meetup group James Donovan sadly died last year from bowel cancer.

A few months before he passed away he asked me, as the only other 'Joe fan' in the group if I'd sell his GI Joe Classified collection for him... quite frankly he didn't have the time or energy to do it himself wanted to clear some space and use what time he had left indulging his passion for music and records? and he did, he packed up all his Joes in a couple of totes and began buying many of the records he'd always wanted to own. He spent his final weeks over Christmas listening to them in his conservatory with his friends, his partner Sarah and constant cat-companion Thomas.

Being one of the kindest guys on the planet he didn't want to profit from the sales, he offered me a frankly silly 50% of the proceeds (for my trouble) while the remaining 50% went to Cat Protection (Where Thomas came from) and St Wilfrid's Hospice (Eastbourne) who'd been invaluable to him and Sarah during his illness. I talked my cut down to 25% and agreed to do it as soon as we could work out the logistics of me getting his collection to mine. Sadly that didn't happen before he passed.

I?ve spent the past month or so sorting, cataloguing, valuing, photographing and scheduling eBay listings. It's been a melancholy and in some ways cathartic process? it?s particularly sad seeing the ones he never had time to open and play with.. However I digress, I feel I?m finally ready to list them on eBay which is where you come in. Would you mind bidding? Or spreading the word? I want to make James? chosen charities a tonne of money! As for my 25%? Well, Sarah will not have it any other way so? it's gonna be drinks on me for at the next pub meetup (so please if you are in the Brighton (UK) area come along to one!).

HA! I think eBays Global Shipping Service will deal with all that but if need be I can set it afloat on the Atlantic as see how it fairs. Thanks for bidding!
