The issue of customer service is another thing entirely.

SmallJoes,
If you're going to raise the price on the Cobra set because it's selling so much faster than the Joe set, then why wasn't the Joe set's price LOWERED correspondingly? That would certainly help balance out the rate of sales between both. Originally you were comfortable with both sets selling for a total of $70, $5 more than the pair of sets goes for together. So the Joe set should be lowered to $24 in order to achieve sell-through of both separately sold sets at the same price you wanted originally. Otherwise people are perfectly accurate to say you're just trying to increase your profits, not trying to balance out the sell-through of each set like you claim. Anyone whose order was completely cancelled should be offered the option to purchase the amount of sets that your (secret?) limit is set at, for the original price. These people are trying to be your best customers and instead you let them order NOTHING compared to thousands of others who each gave you less sales? How does that hold up to basic logic let alone the notion of providing decent customer service? There is absolutely nothing outrageous or abusive or whatever other pejorative you want to use about ordering a measly FIVE sets. I have absolutely no problem with you setting a purchase limit even to one set per person, but to say someone who ordered FIVE sets was taking advantage of anything is ludicrous and offensive to collectors everywhere. Five is not an "army" by any stretch of the imagination. That's less than the bare minimum needed to make a decent battle scene diorama with any troop builder figure. I have more of most 25AC troop figures than that, and far more of some like B.A.T.S. Not because I need to "have more" than the next collector, but because this is simply the amount reasonably needed to make a battle scene in the tradition of the comics and cartoons. For someone who's supposedly dealt with collectors as customers for years, you're exhibiting as much ignorance in this thread about common collecting habits as the average Walmart employee. Note that I nor anyone I know tried to order any of these from SmallJoes, but I agree that the actions they took were horrendous. And I don't want to hear that it affected "only" 3 people. If it "only" harmed 3 people, then it shouldn't be that much trouble to correct the situation for "only" 3 people either. |

How many times have people come on here complaining about a price hike at target? Or walmart? Or they complain about them not having what they want, or they didnt like the way a stock boy looked at them so they boycotted the store, and tried to rally as many people as possible into boycotting that store as well for being "mistreated".
Do you guys still not go to Target and wal mart because they raised prices on 25th stuff? Seriously guys, its really not that big of a deal. Did they steal your money? No? than get over it. Dont trash a company you know nothing about. To be honest, small joes has been around longer than most of you have been collecting and they will still be there when you sell your collection on ebay.

Anybody else hear that?
It's the furious scribbling of a pen over at BBTS writing out a thank you note to Smalljoes. |

If a manager acted that way toward customers (especially with documented evidence) then he'd lose his job. Simple as that. |

OK, got my response back from SmallJoes after complaining that they upped the price on the Cobra set I ordered (only 1 + two of the two set combos) AFTER putting in the payment info. IOW, I added it to the cart at $38, I confirmed the order total at the right price, I put in my payment and hit confirm, and the invoice that popped up was jacked up by $8.
Here is what their customer service has to say on the issue: "We had to raise the price of this set during the day today because these sets were selling down too unevenly. I cannot modify any prices back to the lower price. If you would like to cancel this item from your order, or cancel the whole order, please advise." I for one am cancelling the whole order and keeping my BBTS order. They have shown integrity and concern for their customers over the years, and have never screwed me on $8 by jacking up the price while I was entering payment information. F*CK SMALLJOES I buy about $2,000 in toys a year from BBTS... I guess SmallJoes doesn't want that business because they would have to honor their advertised price and lose $8. Now there's some smart thinking... |

Hmm.. Im down with not selling a ton of one thing to someone because everyone should get in on them plus it prevents scalping(smalljoes will never say this because they know you will get mad and say you want them for army building but they dont know that). That said... They should have emailed you saying "I am afraid we can not sell you X amount of the X packs for X, X, and X reasons. However we are willing to sell you our limit of X which applies to all customers and of course we will sell them to you at the price which you had before." That would be good business... Sorry SMJ but there is never a good excuse to just cancel a order and not even inform the buyer or offer them a good compromise.
