Yup. Didn't want it to come to this, but Im really wondering why I have a ton of little plastic men in baggies, boxed and sorted by year, from 30 years ago taking up room.

I mean, I'm literally doing nothing with them. I have basically every guy from '84 to '88 with a few pre and post year men too. For a period, what I really enjoyed was finding variations. I have tons of different variations. A few different '84 Duke, Firefly, Serpentor, etc. Mail away, red card, paint variations, etc. Add to that playsets, vehicles, etc., and I've got a ton of stuff.

The thing I hate the thought of though is taking forever to sell everything..... and deal with Ebay. The few times I've sold things like Joes on ebay you either don't get nearly what you should OR the buyer makes some BS claim like the package never came.

I guess Im just wondering if its worth the hassle to take pictures of everything, do write ups, etc., to get rid of it all and hopefully make a few thousand bucks.

If you're interested in getting rid of it all at once, but do not want the hassle of documenting it all and risking things on ebay, you might consider selling it to one of the online shops that sells vintage figures. Just check out some of the site sponsors on the banner to your right (smalljoes, toysource, etc.) and you should be pretty safe selling your items. You may not get the total value you're looking for, but if you're just looking to offload with the least amount of hassle possible, it's your safest bet.

there will be a very big difference from what any vintage site/comic book store/etc will pay for versus its worth on ebay or a BST thread.. And its not because they want to rip you off, they have to pay an employee to research, and document each item, on top of what they pay you.
I would only use that option if you just want to dump the collection.

Oh, I totally know. Im not looking to just dump it. I don't think Id do that unless I was destitute (which Im not). I just hate that I have all this stuff stored, taking up room, doing literally nothing, simply because it was a huge part of my childhood. Its just one of those things, and Ive kinda come to the conclusion/realization that I probably wont ever do anything with it other than store it. So I guess whats the point. I also hate the thought of letting go of something that was such a huge part of my childhood, so I don't know.

Put some of it out on display. You may find you enjoy it after all. Or, you may find you truly don't need it around.
