Good luck man. Great work. I get random PMs from time to time wanting me to do custom art for people, and it's not worth the pay.
Maybe you're going a right angle, trying to get trades for it. I don't think people realize the time involved in it. Again, good luck |

Mandingo - yeah, I feel you. I started in illustration at $10-20 per drawing, fortunately moved in to miniature design from $50 to $150. I did a job for Wizards of the Coast, 15 drawings (really five similar versions of the same three drawings) for $1000. Long story short, freelancing as an artist is much easier as a hobby than as a profession. Hope I do get some trades from this, though - if anyone wants an illustration, character portrait, whatever, hit me up!

Nice work man! I've done a few pieces for people here, trades are a good way to go. If your fast with the sketches it works out pretty well.

Awesome work my friend. How many figs per drawing are we talking? Also would I have permission to use your artwork that I commissioned?

Zartanman - thanks, glad you like. Trades for Star Wars figs have been for 4-6 figures (but my want list was smaller than it is for Joes), trades for Marvel Legends have been for 3 figures. A lot depends on what you want and what you've got to trade, but everyone's been happy so far And the artwork is yours to do with whatever you will.
arthurdent - thanks. Anyway, email me if you're interested - my want list is pretty much any 25th Joes. |
