I say if you are talking about us Tankers, yes. I have sent out free figures to many people here. Some people are just rude and I try to stay away from them.

Yes, US, HERE. I've got a good reason I am asking this, I just want to get some more responses. I agree almost all figs but especaily the "chase" / variant ones are worth whatever you want to pay for them / how bad you need them. Again, I am getting at things like Eels now, and BATs, HISS drivers, ect. when they FIRST came out. Thanks -

I know what ya mean. I have sold some stuff today. People was complaining about the prices and I tell em its cuz of the star case I ship the figures in with the boxes that weight lil more. Not trying to make profit out of this but go by the shipping. I have gave away some stuff to tankers in need and of all the stuff I gave away to those in need, only got one thanks. I guess people will have their own opinion wether you like it or not.

I think a fair price for a MOC figure would be something that you could back up with say, the prices listed on GIJoePriceGuide.com or an average sampling of similar items on E-bay.

for a common figure, price plus shipping plus a little for your time and gas (a buck or two), i really don't think it's worth much more than that and have found plenty of folks in the community who usually will do that.
for something more desirable, ala Eels/bats, i think a 50% markup is fair.

Personally i have never paid more that 13 dollars shipped for a common figure. If i don't like the price, there is usually one cheaper right around the corner...Take Eels for example. I won one off of E-Bay for 8.69 shipped and bought 2 more from a tanker at 10 shipped a piece. When i sell figures, i try to stay in the same range i would buy one for...

I think 5 bucks tops. If you're trying to make more than that..... whatever.
That being said, I think if you're looking to make money on these things, find a new gig. Otherwise, sit on em for a long time and wait till they appreciate in value. I just think its assnine to go around, burn gas, and waste your time looking for these things far and wide and make next to nothing on them OR try to charge the shit out of someone and rob them. Silly....... |

My thing has always been do trades and get stuff at reasonable prices here and if you want top dollar take it to Ebay. That way you can get what you want and not seem like a prick to us. ;) Just my line of thinking.

Personally, I mostly try and recoup my costs. If it's for a buddy, I don't even care about that.
That being said, if I have a figure that is in high demand, I'm not trading it for a common fig. Yeah, a BAT and Wild Bill might cost the same at retail, but no way I (or any one else) is trading straight across. I'd say a few bucks is fair profit on a common figure, all depending on supply and demand. A good army builder like the BAT, I wouldn't fault someone for asking $2-3 in profit. For a more rare fig, it's all relative. I'd also say though, if you don't like a price, move along. A seller has a right to ask whatever he wants for his product. He has it, you want it, work it out or walk away! Personally, I've paid up to $18 for a figure I wanted right away. I've also sold things at anywhere from a pretty substantial loss ($50 on a Snake-Eyes bust) to a pretty substantial gain ($100 on a MOC yellow Stalker). Sure, a few people pissed on me for selling Stalker at a profit, but I don't remember anyone stepping in and offering me $50 to make up for my loss. Bottom line is, it's all relative. Supply and demand, baby. People always forget that when a seller is trying to make a couple bucks on an army builder, the same seller probably is just trying to make up for the loss he takes getting an extra Wild Bill in that case.
