I just got back from the post office to get a shipping quote for a package I am sending to a fellow tanker in England.
The guy weighed it at 7.5 lbs. And then he told me it would cost $60.95 to ship it. Does that seem too expensive to you. I have used paypal to print my labels and it always seems to be cheaper if I go that route, but I am still using USPS when using paypal so I don't understand why it would be cheaper the only thing I am doing different is using paypal as the middleman. None of this really matters since I can not use paypal to ship the package overseas. I just want to make sure I am saving my fellow tanker as much money as I can in shipping. Any help or suggestions is appreciated. Thanks, DV |

Posting stuff loose in a padded envelope is ALWAYS cheaper than MOC when possible.

Hey thanks guys Im sending out two skyrtikers and they weight 7.5 pounds so no way around that. So I guess 60 is about normal. I have never gotten anyting bigger then a figure from overseas. But wow I feel for you guys if you have to pay this kind of shipping to get stuff from the U.S

Yeah that seems about right Dave. It is expensive. Just the way it is.
The Longest Day is right though. With figures it is better in a padded envelope. But you got Sky Strikers so no matter what it will be expensive.

That seems expensive to me. I shipped a lot of stuff to England before and I think $45 is the most that I've ever had to pay. And that was for a box that weighed over 8 lbs and was a pretty good size. Most stuff usually runs me about $20 for a standard 11.25" x 8.75" x 4" box.
It might be worth it to check on one of those boxes they sell at the post office, where if it fits in it, it's a standard price. They have a standard for sending stuff to the UK that I think is about $45 or $50. It might save you a little if the Skystriker fits in that. You might even want to ask the person you're sending it to if they mind if you open the box and send the pieces in one of those USPS boxes if it'll save you both some cash. |

It's about right. I have found out if your box is over 12" it jumps from the $24 range to the $55 range instantly. Skystikers are going to be more and I am surprised that you aren't paying more than that. Just keep the padding to a minimum for the most part (instead of my typical extra space) because the extra inch might push you over the next price level.
