I hate their fees for selling but sometimes you find something good with the auctions. I won 2 buckle variant hooded commanders for .99 in good shape. Sometimes you'll find something good on T fieds. I think there may have been a thread with some of the alternatives.

ebay is a good buyer tool for the most part, but they rape you as a seller. There is a few alternatives out there, but nothing as big as ebay. Hopefully the will bankrupt themselves and be baught out by a company that doesnt believe in rape

ioffer.com and ebid.net are the two alternatives I've seen recommended most. Of course there's also the various forums too.

i didnt know they had t hat comin. That would be sweet, google seems to be about the people (well considering all their aps are free and very usefull) Hopefully they will bankrupt ebay and then buy them out and revamp the site to the way it used to be. That would be great.

I am also a major lego builder. Years ago the lego community wanted an alternative to ebay's shenanigans and so Bricklink was formed as a buying selling site, It also has forums and a massive data base. I have been dreaming of something like this in the Joe community.
That is why the time for Joelink is now! Imagine a data base like Yojoe, a forum and networking like the Tank and the buying and selling potential of ebay. All being run and used by, people with genuine love and dedication for the hobby. I will say this- in my time over at bricklink I have seen experienced ebay sellers ostracised from the site because the thought the could pull the same rip offs and profiteering that is the mainstay of ebay. |
