I've been looking for a good postage calculator that computes postage to and from Canada addresses. Does anyone here know of a good one?

thats alot of info, all useful though. but i have to admit, i didnt read hardly any of it. i despise the mail system. especially after Katrina.
i have a ups account even for the little shipping i do. a little more expensive? oh yes. but easier. i can print labels at home and then drop the packages off at either the UPS store, or office depot. |

USPS allows you to print postage and set up a carrier pick up. USPS also allows you to print what is known as a "Scan Form", confirming that your parcel was recovered by a mail carrier. Don't get me wrong, not knocking UPS, but want to clarify that USPS offers the same convenience. |

Has anyone mailed any of the Target Vehicles? I just sent (2) via Priority with the $0.65 Delivery Confirmation within the U.S. and got raped for $14.10! Is this normal these days? The box wasn't even that big, slightly bigger then the two boxed vehicles. I almost paid in shipping what it cost me to buy the vehicles. Last time i do that.

After a certain size, 12x12x12 I believe, the prices get ridiculous if they have to go very far. At least, for priority it is.

Yea, i believe i was just over those dimensions. And i mean JUST over and really got abused considering the value of whats in the box. At that point it almost becomes senseless.

I shipped 2 vehicles using USPS Priority Mail (AZ to NY) for $10.55 + Delivery Confirmation. USPS also provides FREE boxes for Priority Mail - ask for BOX #7 which is 12" x 12" x 8" and fits 2 vehicles perfectly. If you have a bigger box than that, you will have to pad more than needed and also makes it heavier. The 2 vehicles + box + light packing paper/bubble weigh just about 3 lbs total and depending on where you are sending from/to (zones) could cost from $5.05 (local) to $10.55 (zone 8). Saves a few bucks. I've always been one of the lowest shippers on eBay, maybe I'll share some more of my USPS "trick" here.
I usually use the free boxes, but had a plain box laying around that looked like it would work just fine. I will admit tho, it was about an inch and a half taller then i needed. *Laugh* I guess i should look for EXACT sized boxes now. It's common sense to pack everything as snug as you can in the smallest box, but i did for the most part which is funny, and here i am thinkin USPS gives the best deals. Anyways, i have the receipt here...about 3 1/2 pounds in weight and shipped to (zone 8). I tossed in some Styrofoam peanuts and a tiny piece of bubble wrap. |
