I've never tested the theory because of how grating Scrappy-Doo is, but I've read that if Shaggy is wearing a green shirt, the episode is Scrappy-less. If he's wearing a red shirt, Scrappy is in the episode.
Useless trivia, sorry.
I would take the Scooby Gang in o-ring w/a Mystery Machine, though.

Sunbow sound is really varied.
It's like they had a sound palette of the last 30 years of movies and cartoons to choose from.
I hear all the generic car, gun, jet aircraft etc. sound-bites from previous cartoon series, along with plenty of Star Trek and Star Wars thrown in.
I'm sure there's lightsaber ignition sounds for automatic doors opening and definitely Tie Fighter sounds in there too.

Yeah, but not just SFX and ambient sounds - voice acting and background music were on a different level too. In Sunbow, the music always complements the action, while in DIC, it feels like they just slapped on the first tune they had, regardless of the mood of the scene.

Slaughter was the best part of the otherwise questionable '87 movie. He had some of the most quotable lines.

I didn't like Sgt. Slaughter at all with his introduction in the 'Arise!' mini.
Taking out 50+ BATS with one punch or swinging one like an Olympic hammer throw to take out another 50+.
Dull god mode character.
Later in Season 2 he get's a couple of featuring ep's and they round the character out a lot better.
Making him much more interesting so I've warmed up to him now.
I'm looking forward to rewatching the movie when I have a spare moment.
Can't remember anything about it from childhood, so it will be like watching something new.

Cobra-La should've existed to kill Serpentor and turn Mindbender into a snake.

Sgt. Slaughter and Serpentor were always yelling which makes them a bit tough to take and really limits the range of voice acting on both characters.

Sunbow second season amped up the tension between the Joes and it can be a bit grating as the Leatherneck/Wet Suit bickering, Beachhead being a jerk, Lifeline constantly whining, and Dial Tone constantly messing up gets a bit old.

Overall, RAH Season 1 (Pyramid of Darkness through There's No Place Like Springfield) is a much more balanced run. Sure, there are some clunker episodes, but there are also a number of really strong episodes:
* Synthoid Conspiracy
* Operation Mind Menace
* Lasers in the Night
* Captives of Cobra
* Worlds Without End
* Hearts and Cannons
* Memories of Mara
* The Traitor
* Skeletons in the Closet
* There's No Place Like Springfield

Season 2 has:
* Computer Complications
* Sink the Montana
* Let's Play Soldier
* In the Presence of Mine Enemies
