I don't care if they go a whole new direction with Gi Joe, I see a lot of talk on here about it being tiem to move to something new and if it keeps cool stuff coming to us IN THE CLASSIC Scale I am all for it. It could be space, zombies, soldiers of history, fantasy stuff, I don't really care ...to me Gi Joe has just always been the best action figure going and that is what I want to see continue. the ARAH story was great for the comic and the cartoon in the 80s but really anything could work if it was a good show with good toys. I really think if they want to riff on the old that its time an adventure team style take came back around, its what Hasbro did with the name in the 70s when war wasn't really popular and now sort of mirrors that. An eclectic diverse team of heroes that get into super science, time travel, supernatural, space, zombies, sometimes terrorists or supervillians would be really cool and I would likely get all aboard with it. But the desperate idea that we should ditch the classic toy formula just because the ARAH story is getting old strikes me as an uncreative and mentally lazy way to try and keep GI Joe relevant....its a cliché marketing idiots bag of tricks gimmick to just swap scales or abandon existing collections rather than THINK of something new. You keep the toy scale the same and just swap the story underpinnings completely. What we have always liked about each new years GI Joes is that they go with what we already have and expand on it.

I would really like an original idea bringing in a lot of new characters and toys. Just need the right people involved and it could be great.

I would like the show to have some similarity with the ARAH concept. Team of elite Soldiers fighting Cobra. But, with Cobra still being a terrorist organization. Not, like they were portrayed in Renegades.
Original story lines. All new characters. I don't have a problem with bringing back some of the original characters, but I think we would be better off with all new well written characters. |

Yeah, I think it is time to expand on the GI Joe universe.

I think an Adventure Team concept would work but with a mix of old favorites and new charactors. Have Flint be the leader with a story of he left the main team for reasons unknown but in truth Hawk assigned him to handle missions the main team could not. Over time have the orginal team show up to help or to push the story when needed. This would allow other Hasbro brands to pop in from time to time like COPS, MASK, In humans, Gen. Blitz and the Iron Army, the Red Shadows, etc. This gives him some room to work since he is not assigned to the main team and could investigate more of the odd things which once and a while could tie back to COBRA or other players in the mythos. Flint would be a good fit due to his educational background, which would open up the team for some treasure hunter type adventures. Just a thought I have had for awhile now........

Movie based in 2016, then if that flops, all completely original.
