Well I think kids today need to see good vs. evil the American Manga stuff seems to lack that. I don't know the last time when we saw a group of chivalrous heroes vs villains./
Kids today aren't told that stuff/ anymore. Our grandparents fought Hitler in WW2 and that was the last time good vs. evil in the reality sense. Villainy isn't relative. CC, Megatron, Mumm-Ra all are pure evil. There should be no humanity to them. Kids today need to see heroes doing good stuff when it is hard to do. But also be entertained and whoever the hell is writing children's programming today seems to not be writing to their level. They write to children like they are morons who can't see what the adults don't think they can see. Why are cartoons from yesteryear timeless? Because you had good vs evil and themes and you also were writing to the adult level. Children are extremely perceptive and can understand complex storylines. They know when they are being lied to. The world is not rosy and innocent. Kids know this and this should be reflected in their programming. Resolute may be the thing kids to need to see! |

Don't know who or what be the powers that dicatate if we all get a Resolute series. Yet I thought it a good idea just to turn on the tv on the Cartoon Network. Like many of you, I already saw it on YouTube. Obviously, I'm certain those in charge of television ratings will be watching very carefully to see the numbers of those watching Resolute on the old regular TV tube. So for those who already watched it like me, just get up really quick, for a little excercise, and simply turn on the tv on Cartoon Network. WHo knows. Maybe its you, and your simple act of switching on the tv, who will decide if we get a series. On that note...gotta go...
Tv ratings are based on Nielsen Media which gathers information from volunteers who are called Nielsen Familys. These are people who have Nielsen Media ratings devices in their homes. These devices are hooked up to various electronics all around the house. The electronics in question are devices that have anything to with television such as TV's, VCR's, Cable & Sattelite boxes, and Tivo's & DVRs. The families actually get paid for this service, but not enough in my opinion for people to be "spying" on you and messing with your equipment. I work in the televison and film industry and at one time I actually got a job with Nielsen Media. I turned down the position because of the fact that you actually had to open up the electronics in order to place the ratings meters in them. I didn't get why they didn't just invent something that just hooked up to the TV on the outside. This was over 10 years ago so maybe they have changed the way they do things. I just didn't like the idea of having to open things up and possibly breaching the warranty. I remember the one thing that they told me which really put it over the edge for me. During the interview process they would give you senarios to see how you would handle them. The senario that they gave me was that a wife called up to have a ratings system installed while her husband was at work. While you are installing the ratings system the husband comes home from work to find you in his house with his wife and his brand new $2000 TV is dismantled (once again they told us we actually had to take apart these electronics in order to install the ratings devices). They then go on to tell you that the husband becomes enraged. The best part about it is that they want to know how you would handle this situation. Sorry to stray from my original point. What I was trying to say is that it doesn't matter how many of us watch the show because if none of us have a Nielsen Media ratings system in our home then they won't know how many of us are actually watching. Ratings are overated anyways.

Thanks for the scoop, Scoop. I hope I did not cause an inconvenience to those I may have revved up. Its good to know, though, how these rating systems work. Maybe we Tankers can now form legions of volunteers to be Nielson Familys! Yea!!!!

Right, unless you're a Nielsen family, it doesn't matter what you watch on TV tonight.
BUT, you might make a difference by watching it on Adultswim.com and NOT youtube. Get that sucker up past 1,000,000 I see no reason the kiddies can't have some kind of Sigma Six/ROC pap on Saturday morning Toon Disney, and we bigger children can't have a Resolute show 12am on Adult Swim hours after the little ones have gone to bed. Off topic, when I was younger my parents would have let me watch something like G.I. Joe resolute, and I would have LOVED it. R rated action movies with tripple digit body counts weren't uncommon, and my mother was fond of forcing me to watch gory B-rated horror movies. I hated them, but only because I thought they were cheesy and I prefered either action or comedy. It hardly scarred me or drove me to being a sociopath, I'll go out of my way to not step on ants. I don't even swat flies, I try to catch them and release them outside. |
