There's a new article on CBR.com about the "Resolute" series with a little more info then what was presented yesterday at Comic-Con. You can read it here.
One particular point made that had me grinning was the producer's comparison of this new series to one of my all time favorite Anime titles: "It pulls a lot of influence from 'Ghost In The Shell,'" Dos Santos said. They kept the color schemes of the 80s versions to make the characters easily recognizable, but wanted to showcase technology perhaps five or ten years ahead of what's available. Even though the animation isn't being done by an actual Japanese Anime studio, I think "Resolute" will be the adult oriented Anime series I've been hoping and praying would someday be made. |

This cartoon might lose sight of a storyline trying to be "Adult" and "Edgy". It's only five minutes long.

"It was announced that toys would remain in the three and three quarter inch scale, and that "Resolute" toys would hit in the spring with a big push of "Rise of Cobra" toys in the summer of 2009. They'll start planning for a more balanced line, including "classic" figures, in 2010, and designers Archer and Pailino "have to plan for ten years of story."
so thats it, 2008 is the end of the line (till 2010) for our classic line...so sad |

So it's not the end of the line. Two years is nothing. The last 'hiatus' came and went so fast and until proven otherwise, I'm expecting the stuff we get in between (movie figures) to be as good as what we've had so far anyway.

What Hasbro really still needs to work on is their distribution problems and meeting demand. |
