I really hope its not cancelled. Best cartoon to hit in years, though so far Thundercats might take its spot. I don't see why they need to go on "hiatus" while the live action movie is made, the only confusion there might be is why the cartoon is so much better than the live action stuff.

Excellent show, a lot of great episodes. I had a lot of favorites actually. Each character had some really good development. Here are the moments that stand out to me:
1. The Arashikage storyline. The two parter, and the later follow up. Very good family drama there. 2. The Roadblock/Heavy Duty story. Terrific family story, with some great tie-ins between the two characters. 3. The Homecoming 2 parter that told Duke's backstory. Amazing that Duke wasn't bitter about his football injury, terrific stuff. 4. The two-part finale was very memorable, with a good backstory now for Scarlett. Good stuff. Looking back, I guess I really loved the story arcs that emphasized family, backgrounds and character development. I know the show may be done forever, but I'm hoping that we'll see a season two. Heck, Family Guy came back, right? It could happen . . . |

I know a lot of people are believing this rumor, but I remember seeing a second season discussed for Renegades at SDCC. Right now the show is on hiatus to give the writer a break, allow for the Movie to build some wind. If I recall, they said the second season will likely appear next spring/summer so it can ride on the premier of the movie.
so believe this "cancellation" if you want, but I doubt this is the end of the Joes. |

Finally saw the last three eps.
Very well-executed. As others have said, a bit rushed with Scarlet's father and the MASS device coming out of nowhere, but seeing Baroness, Destro and shockingly, Cobra Commander actually laying the smackdown on the Joes was a real treat. This was definitely not the ineffectual coward from Sunbow, nor the ineffectual psycho from Resolute. This is what Cobra Commander always should have been. Calculating, ruthless, cunning, intelligent, and seemingly unkillable in any permanent sense. I hope the next series is a continuation of Renegades, with a new title but all the characters and crew returning. Frankly, that's optimistic. Hasbro seems to be chasing the big score. Rather than let a property slowly build an audience, or just maintain a respectable one, they want to hit the lottery again, and frankly it's not gonna happen. There are more channels now dividing up the audience into smaller pieces. Hasbro needs to be happy with a decent sized share and let that build, rather than constantly destroy what they have trying to build the next blockbuster. Also, I don't know what's more pathetic. People suggesting that Resolute was the greatest GI Joe animation ever made, or that anyone without the nostalgia glasses on will look at ARAH and see anything but what it is; fun and fair for its time, but hopelessly corny and irrelevant to today's audiences. |

Just watched it in a week.
I liked it. The style was good and, although the writing wasn't very polished, it was still watchable. Fingers crossed it comes back showing us the fledgling Joes fighting Cobra again. I wonder what will happen to all the Cobra-Marts and their bakeries? |
