Does that cloth piece over the mouth and nose come down/off?
Are these guys wearing a full face mask underneath? I was looking at Dawangster's SE pics in another thread and it looks they come off. I'm about ready to snag the Sniper and knowing that the cloth comes off makes it a full win for sure. Thanks in advance! |

The cloth ones come off, but they do have molded face masks underneath.

Yes, the cloth facemasks do come off. While I like the cloth look, I've been thinking that once I get Beachhead and Firefly they might look out of place, and the molded masks might tie the line together more. I've also been toying with rolling them down. On my Officer it looks like a turtleneck, so it kind of works in that old school way. Very 007-ish. lol
For the best results I've found removing the head, and turning the mask upside down is hard to beat. You cover the neckpost and tuck it inside the jacket, effectively making it a dickie. Looks pretty good to me, if you want I'll try to post a picture later.

Awesome.
I am definitely getting that Sniper and plan to mod him a bit to make him a single character. Perhaps...Blackout, Deadshot or Bullseye. |

Mainly what I've been concentrating on is getting supplies for my Officer. Taking a cue from someone else on this board I grabbed a radio, and I also picked up some ball and smoke grenades, a watch, and even a pair of sunglasses with red lenses. I'm not the biggest fan of the AK74, or the Smersh rigs, for all my troops so all my Cobra's will be getting lots of different types of web gear, packs, and weapons to choose from. They're gonna be a pretty awesome little fighting force. All my Cobra infantry will be outfitted really well, and armed to the teeth. I feel really bad for Duke and Beach when they finally arrive. However, In terms of using more distinctive headsculpts one thing I will warn is that I have a Chris Redfield, and a Soldier Story USMC Flamethrower Headsculpt. While both heads fit the bodies with a tiny, tiny bit of trimming the socket in the head, that isn't the only concern. The helmet doesnt fit over Redfield's hair, and the Marine's nose is a bit too long for the mask to fit. So if you're gong that route, becareful which sculpts you pick. There's a member on here that has a pretty good set up of individual sculpts on his Cobra's, but I forget his name. However, if you're not worried about using the helmet or the mask, the Redfield sculpt would make a KILLER Blackout, IMO. I had been contemplating that myself.

Here are a couple photos with the cloth mask turned over as I described. Sorry they're not posed or anything, I just snapped them this morning to give you the basic idea. The more I look at him like this, the more I like it. I think I'll be keeping him like this.
Hope that gives you some idea as to one of the options.

Thanks. I'm really happy I decided to take the plunge on the Sideshow figures. They're alot of fun, and the options for customization are endless. Once I get a good line up of Cobra's I'm hoping to get them a bunch of white parkas by xmas so they can do some arctic manuevers. I'm loving the 1:6th scale, I could never go back.
