Alright, Convince me as to why I need these or as to why I should avoid them..
The pictures of the mockups look really good. Do the actual figures look as good in person. Which ones are a must have... damn, I want them all, but at $100/each it doesnt seem feasible. The cobra throne looks amazing... but is it worth the $200? Convince me that it's something to jump into from your experiences. In addition, most of the figures are sold out on the sideshow website. Is there other places to buy them?? My family keeps asking for Christmas gift ideas, and I was thinking about telling them to all go in on one.. Thoughts? |

If you like them and can afford them, do it, if not...don't

I'm passing on them.
For that price I could get all the exclusives I've been passing on. |

There is Flexpay but I don't want to go that route. Your right. You can either afford them or not.

The dolls are great looking and will look good in a display case, other than that they are way to high a price to be worth it. I have not purchased any of them myself, I will not pay that price for a Collectible Barbie Doll, why would I pay that price for a GI Joe Doll, I mean VCD. Just my point of view.

What a friend of mine did was; he took some toys he did not want anymore to a local toystore/collectible store and trade them for credit and got himself a Stormy. Not a bad idea. I'm considering that route since I got some stuff to get rid of too.

NOOOOOOOOOOOO! Not the "D" word! lol But seriously, the only 12" GI Joe "doll" worth getting would be this guy right here! Last edited by Steelgrave; 11-30-2009 at 06:00 PM.. |

I would buy a 12 inch Bat Doll. That one would be a must have.

If they made it look exactly like the original then I would have to buy a couple. I'm like the biggest B.A.T. fan on the planet. It's my #1 favorite figure of all time. But if they changed it like they did with Firefly then.........OH MY GOD I'd be seriously pissed off!

I was entranced by Sideshow for some time and bought several of their 12" Star Wars figures. The fact that the price went from $40 to $60 for the same figures with less accessories put a krimp in my passion. The fact that Bespin Luke ended up looking about as good as the Hasbro version also made me lose a lot of steam. Now I've got about a dozen Star Wars dolls collecting dust on my bookshelves. Worst of all is my 12" scale Jabba the Hutt and throne set that cost me $$$$ only to become the world's largest and most expensive paperweight.
When Sideshow gets it right, they really get it right. But many times the final figure looks next to nothing like figure they promised due to bad paint apps, clothing issues, etc. As much as I would love their Snake Eyes, or Storm Shadow figures, $60-$100 is too much to ask with that kind of risk.
