I can't wait to check this out. The bigger goggles do make the head look better. Glad they fixed that.

Just opened mine and I dont really have any complaints about SE, I really like the commando look. But Timber on the other hand I am highly disappointed. Obviously he is going to have all the joint lines due to his articulation so I dont have any issues with his look, but due to said articulation mine will not stand up to save his life. His body is so heavy that his joints cant sustain a pose. Its like hes standing on ice. The legs will start to splay out then he topples kind of annoying. Maybe after I get home from work I can figure out a way to make his feet hold to the shelf better I wont be as underwhelmed. But I also didnt buy this for Timber, I bought it for Snake Eyes which I like.

Got mine a little while ago too. SE is great - not many accessories but not really needed for the classic Commando look. Like wise disappointed with Timber, he needs a stand. Only way I could get him to stand makes the front right leg look broken.

My biggest complaint was the overly round look to the head that was shown in the original preview of the figure and it does not look that way now. |

Yeah I missed my Fedex guy today as well, so will have to get it tomorrow. Looking forward to adding this to my Sideshow collection...hopefully the Timber deal works out, bummer to hear if he won't stand up. Would expect much better quality from a $200 purchase.

It would probably be pretty easy to make a clear stand for timber, when my timber gets here i'll see if I can rig a nice stand if he has trouble standing on his own.

If mine can't stand I'm going to try and stiffen up the joints with some glue- works wonders for the 1:18th figures.

Pictures! There are about 50 more on my photobucket account, also willworkfortoys if you need some more photo mediocrity.
I understand the people wanting the boxes to all match but I think the flat finish looks so much more sleek than the glossy boxes and displays much better. My findings: Timeber is 'meh' as most have commented, heavy and hard to pose. He pretty much has one default pose where all the joints line up and thats about as good as he gets. Accessories are all great and since I've only had Cobra's thus far a lot of them are new to me. My favorite is the messenger bag though. My first thought was, "Great, a murse" but it has three working zippers, clips, weave, and lots of miniature goodness that looks great at this scale. I also tucked the sweater in as thats how the SE Timber sculpture was and it keeps the sweater from flowing out the bottom of the harness. My biggest complaint is that we need more left handed trigger hands. I like my figures with all guns blazing. All in all I think this figure is great and the 'newness' factor may wear off but he is up there with Firefly and the Vipers for me. |
