They're pretty awesome, and they typically hold their value due to low production numbers. And its better to purchase directly from sideshow to get exclusives, and points/dollars off towards future purchases. And ebay is excellent for finding all the dolls, and sometimes you can get good prices.

They are fantastic quality, and some of the best Joe stuff ever produced. If you're collcting these for you, then get stuck in, the ROCK. If you want an investment for your kids, Hot Toys stuff is really worth getting. I picked up the Predator Dutch figure 2 years ago for about £160, it now goes for £300 plus. Hot Toys get really good licences which will always have a collector interest.

I just got my first SS figure - Cobra Officer. The detail and quality is nothing short of amazing. I'm praying the upcoming Baroness is even more incredible.
That said, I prefer the 1:18 scale because they are easier to pose and, with the addition of Marauder weaponry, feel like mini versions of the SS stuff.

The figures are amazing. unfortunately their cost and display area make them somewhat prohibitive if either of those is a concern. I collected up to 4 of them and then realized how much more 1:18 scale stuff I could buy and display in that area so I sold them and gave up collecting 12". I love looking at them and the detail is amazing. If money or space wasn't an issue they would definitely be in my collection.

Honestly, more and more I find myself getting out of 1:18th and into 1:6th. The sculpts are amazing and they hold their value better (although I collect for me and not to sell.)

Started collecting about 2 months ago and I'm in love with them. I've since gotten almost all of them. Worth every penny. Details are incredible. Get one of the troopers on sideshows site. 99.00 dollars and I believe a deal going on for 15.00 off. Once you get him in hand, you will be amazed.
