Right now I'm working on an '81 Chevy short wheel based truck I bought when I was 15. 1st vehicle I ever bought. So far I have dropped in a new 350 small block crate engine, 700r4 transmission, and 3.73 positraction rear end.
I used to race a '73 Camarro on dirt circle tracks until she got too banged up to keep repairing.
About 2 years ago I sold my '74 Corvette. Which was a really fun car to drive. If I get a chance I'll probably buy another one.
I know guys that didn't start fixing up old cars until they were in their 40s. Your never too old to learn. If you ever decide to get into the game I suggest starting with something from the 70s. Generally they are in lower demand so you have less competition, and the power/drive trains are almost completely mechanical which makes them much easier to diagnose and work on. Plus they are great for learning. Also, whatever you buy make sure it runs and drives, that little nit will eliminate so many head aches.
what year do you have? man, ya buddy's trucks engine looks sweet.. i can't wait to see it, you should post wip pics of yours.. i wish i had the money and know how, i'd redo something, i would have a hard time picking what i wanted to redo, because i have so many favorites, and then it's about hunting one down that is in good shape and right price.
i already came to the conclusion years ago, i will never have a classic muscle unless i buy one already done. so right there i knew, i ain't ever owning one, haha..
I'll see what I can do. That truck belongs to a buddy of mine. '55 Chevy pickup. 350 small block. He just detailed her for a local car show this upcoming weekend. I posted a pick of his truck because mine is nowhere near that pretty.
i need more pics of your third other hobby. is that a chevy side step pick up? get me some more pics please. i wanna see it. that gun is bad too, but i much rather check out the car that sick ass engines in. what size is it? post more pics somewhere. please..
