Hi all. Looking for some advice/experience. Since me and the wife moved from an apartment to a house, I have been moving my stuff out of storage at my parents house.
I have my comics bagged and in long boxes. I am going to have to store these in my attic, I live in New England so the temps in the attic will go from extremes depending on the seasons. Is it safe to put the long boxes in an attic? Its a brand new roof, so leaks won't be an issue. Would the extreme heat in the summer destroy the books? |

To be perfectly honest I really wouldn't recommend it! I have all my Joe vehicals in the loft, In the UK i'm hoping it's not too bad as the temps even in summer only go to around 35, Heat, cold, damp...All big factors in your comics, If there is no other choice I'd invest in some good waterproof storage boxes maybe. The other option is to put them under your bed! Has your roof been insolated using celotex? as that may help (That's the route i'm taking) + I had 8 vented tiles put in to get air flowing through the roof, preventing heat build up! Only problem now is it's freezing!

I would avoid that. That just has all kinds of bad written on it. And I'd hate to hear about a fellow comic fan losing his collection. What are the other storage options in your house?

One word: Mice. Bags won't stop them, and I lost a lot of my original Battle Action Force comics to the evil little swine.
