I've been collecting the "Classic G.I.Joe" TPBs all the way up to Issue 10 and all of the Special Missions TPBs they've issued as well... but I can't for the life of me figure out what the hell this particular one is. There's nothing listed in the description specific enough... by the artwork, I'm guessing that it is a collection of the first couple of issues since Hama began continuing the original Marvel continuity, so maybe it's issues 156 and forward??? But it seems waaay too early to be releasing a TPB of that since they just began continuing the series the second half of 2010. Anyone know for sure what this is?
Amazon.com: G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero Volume 1 (G. I. Joe (Graphic Novels)) (9781600108648): Larry Hama, Agustin Padilla: Books ALSO, I do have ANOTHER question-- Is IDW done/wrapping up with their classic TPBs? I'm pretty worried that they STILL do not yet have anything posted for TPB Vol. 12. Vol. 11 is listed for release sometime in April, I believe, but months and months have gone by since that pre-order went up and still no mention of Vol. 12 anywhere. |

Lonely B.A.T., do you know anything about IDW continuing the TPBs past Vol. 11?

They are already two thirds through the original Marvel run. For them to not go beyond 11 would be incredibly annoying and frustrating - and also surprising I think.
Are these things basically just determined by how well they seem to be selling? Or are there weird trademanrk issues or timing in relation to other Joe products that come into play as well? |

They are probably figuring out how to divide up the last of the issues. When they get to 150 it is double sized. That leaves only 5 (mostly weak) issues, except for 155, for #16. They may go to 8 or 9 issues per set to make the last one more desirable. The last one could include 150 - 155, and the Mcfarlane reprint if they stick with the 10 per TPB.

Well have they already started a TPB of Hamas new book? If not, the most obvious thing to do would be to just go 140-149, 150-159, 160-169, etc.
"Continue Mission" so to speak. Alternatively I'd be happy to see a the TPB be 150-155 plus a whole bunch of fun extras, artwork, character dossiers, essays on the original Marvel run, etc. |

"Continue Mission" so to speak. Alternatively I'd be happy to see a the TPB be 150-155 plus a whole bunch of fun extras, artwork, character dossiers, essays on the original Marvel run, etc. First, if they keep on the track they've already established for themselves, they could still do #150-155 for book 16, and include the Yearbooks as many have inquired. That would be a fun, nice, and easy way to wrap it up and give the customer substance for the ~$25 they would pay for a normal 10-volume book. Second, it could be that Grunt1162 is onto something. Is it possible that Vol. 11 is the beginning of this trend to include fewer books per volume? I'm used to paying $16.97 per volume from Amazon, but I've already noticed that Volume 11 is $14.xx. I wondered why the decrease in cost... perhaps 9 books instead of 10 is why. |

Based on this Product Description:
"The original G.I. JOE comic is back - and so is Larry Hama! After the Joes were disbanded, COBRA made their move - with no G.I. JOE to stop them! The Reign of COBRA begins!" I'm gonna say this is definitely the Marvel continuation series |

I just ordered the continuation TPB (#155 1/2+) from B&N the other day. It's supposed to be released tomorrow. I was wondering about the Classic series as well. Number 11 is due in April and it looks like they release one every 3 months, so it's gonna be next year before they are done. :-(
