I had gotten a 3 pack of Joe comics from my Folks when I was young. It was the issues of:
*An issue with Ace/Lady Jaye on Skystriker vs Wild Weasel/Baroness on the Rattler. *An standalone story of the Dreadnoks sans Zartan *A story of Joes Torpedo & SnowJob on the Hovercraft on a Cobra beach base. And Deep Six, Doc, Cutter, and Tripwire on their boat versus a couple of Rattlers. Those were the most awesome. Especially the Dreadnoks. |

Issue #9. Clutch and Scarlett escort the diplomat (actual Cobra agent). I remember seeing the cover with Scarlett hanging out of the copter at the local magazine stand. My great-grandma had given me a dollar to spend and I used 60 cents of it as soon as I saw that comic. My first two Joe figures were Breaker and Stalker and seeing them on the first page makes it even more special.

I got one of those mixed lot comic sets that used to be in the catalogs one Christmas. There were 3 Joe comics in there and the first I read was 7 . The other 2 were 21 . and 30 .

Never had access to the Marvel run of G.I. Joe where I grew up. My first Joe Comic was #1 from DDP - Reinstated. |

My first was issue 53 of the Marvel run. The cover drew me in as a kid, and the story was way better than any of the Joe cartoons I had ever seen. Hooked instantly.............

I'm not 100% sure, but I remember reading Marvel #3, "Trojan Gambit", as a kid. I read most of the comics up to the 60's or 70's. Even now as I read the IDW classics series, the ones I had and read as a kid still stick out to me.

I think 12 was my first issue, and I bought at the store until issue 18. Then had a subscription from 21 to 38 and that was about the time I got out of Joes
I also had the Giant issue 1, and remember some reprint of a few of the early issues. Trojan Gambit and Oktober Guard. |

I picked up #19 of the Marvel run as a reward for behaving well at the doctor's office. It was the climax of the story arc and I had no idea what was going on, but I was hooked.
