During IDW's panel friday at New York Comic Con, details were given on the Infestation event that was mentioned back at SDCC. The threat springs from IDW's "Zombies vs Robots" title and crosses over into all of their liscensed titles, including Ghostbusters, Transformers, Star Trek and G.I. Joe.
Running from January to April, the event will be bookended by a two issue "Infestation" mini-series written by Dan Abnett and Andy Lanning with art by David Messina ("True Blood"). February will see the Transformers: Infestation #1 and 2, written by DnA with art by Nick Roche, and Star Trek: Infestation #1 and #2, written by Scott and David Tipton with art by Casey Maloney. The titles will ship in alternating weeks starting with Transformers in the first week of the month. March will bring G.I. Joe: Infestation #1 and #2, written by Mike Raicht with art by Gionvanni Timpano. Ghostbuters #1 and #2 will be written by Erik Burnham with art by Kyle Hotz. IDW editors Tom Waltz and Andy Scmidt spoke to Comic Book Resources giving more details on the event. They stressed that each book is self-contained with only the zombie infestation crossing over. They did say that Infestation #2 contains a "surprise licensed-based crossover into the IDW universe."

From all accounts this does not affect anything going on in the main books. It's an "elseworlds" type tale much like Future Noir.

WTH!!!
The only infestation is too many Joe Titles and the really great ones are the Cobra books. And, what is it with Zombies? Are they the new thing now? Customs thread is full of zombie customs and always wonder what was the big deal. Monster-wise I was always into Vampires until the whole Toilet, I mean Twilight, mess. Thank God, I have tons of Buffy & Angel comics & DVDs to go back to. |

while not a fanatic, I enjoy zombie movies, but have generally snubbed the comic book versions, especailly the silly Marvel stuff, but I have to admit this looks interesting. Particularly, the Joe and Trek runs.

I run a comic shop here in Virginia and to be honest this dissapoints me. There are SO many zombie books or zombie takes on titles and characters. They could have come up with something original, even a great crossover, but this is becoming tired and very, very, over done.
Every comic company has zombie books now, now IDW throws another one on the body pile and it's begining to stink a bit. We'll more than likely carry this but I don't see it selling very well. |

Zombies were sooooo two years ago. Couldn't they have done like...vampires? I hear that's what the kids like these days.
On that note, I don't think it could top the movie Dead Snow. It's Nazis aaaand zombies. The only thing that movie is missing is ninjas...hint hint. |

I was at Comicon NYC today (friday) and can say honestly there are way too many zombie inspired comics and artwork themes. This seems to be a craze like furrbie or tickle me elmo and yes it is just as annoying as those were. Needless to say I will be skipping this comic series and any other zombie inspired work that comes out. G.I. Joe or not.

I'm glad they're keeping it self-contained and not shoving it down our throat like some other companies do with their cross-overs...
That being said, it doesn't really excite me, but I'll at least take a look before I decide. |

dang. I hate anything Zombie related (other than The Walking Dead, that is one goooooood zombie story) I wonder if the other big crossover news is Godzilla since they just picked up that license. So get ready for Joes vs. Godzilla! you'll be begging for the days of G.I.Joe featuring Snake-Eyes and Ninja Force!
