I'm hoping that Cobra will not be published in April and will return in May. It'd make no sense to cancel Cobra since that's the best book being published for GI Joe. (Crosses fingers)

Wow. They're cancelling Origins, but allowing Hama to keep churning out dogshit in ARAH? Way to show artistic integrity and stay relevant. Epic fail IDW. Oh well. Four extra bucks in my pocket. Too bad about Gage though.

So, according to this, Cobra is ending in April too. Are sales really that bad? Ironic that the only IDW universe comic left will be the one most folks kind of hoped would end! I have no idea how they will be able to wrap up all the loose ends by issue 27, particularly after they moved so slowly for nearly 20 issues. I'm worried IDW season one is going to be somewhat like DDP's WW3 - started nice and slow and rushed the ending.

And yet we're getting Infestation, and Noir. To me they should just keep those books and give us more on Origins.
Or better yet if they feel Origins monthly is too much why not just do a quarterly Origins book with two tales in it. This really sounds like sales issues at least to me. The one shinning thing NOT said in that is can we assume since there was no mention of it that the ARAHamarvelverse (can I take credit for that name now? lol) will be continuing untouched? |

By using the word 'reboot,' do you think IDW is going to ignore (& contradict) what has happened up to this point? Or just give the property a serious change in style/tempo/etc?

The less Joe titles IDW is doing the better in my opinion. Cobra is the only one worth reading anyway.

I hope they don't cancel Gijoe: Cobra, it's the best title, but Origins seems pointless now, i like GIjoe IDW continuty but they sometimes it feels a little unfocused, i love the way they reinterpret the characters, more believable, but they really shoul pace better the issues, i'll stick to it to season II all the same.

I'm kinda glad they're done with Origins. Like some others have stated, they had an opportunity to do something cool with those books, but it never happened. The first few Origins were fantastic (Speaking of, does this mean we'll never get more from the Chimera arc?) but some were dreadful. Baroness was silly and the art was just aggravating. Snow job drove me crazy -- an origins story about the Joes' snow trooper, and it takes place in a tropical climate? I hope these announcements aren't a signal of GI Joe not doing well, though. I've been reading them on the iPod, so I'm behind on issues, but I just read #22 and I thought it was fantastic. Really feels like they're hitting their stride. Had all the elements of a great joe story in it. Hope that continues (and no spoilers if it doesn't!). |

My wallet is glad Origins is ending but I dod not like the idea of the book restarting with a new season and new zero issue. I think it's clear IDW wants to boost the Joe sales and I hope this works.

It seems like a change in creative direction as well. So far, the story's been great but not as appealing with its slow development. I like it, but I can see how its a hard sell.
