DDP continued the GI Joe A Real American Hero story which originally started under Marvel comics. The big difference was that Larry Hama was not onboard for this entire run. Instead we had a diverse mix of writers.
While DDP's run was over a few years ago, there were things we remember from it, both good and bad. This thread is to discuss the former. What are your favorite aspects of the DDP run? Here are some of mine:

^ Agree!
I would add: Zandar vs Zartan! This should have gone on for a lot longer than a few issues and a single fight. DDP was the first real character development Zandar ever had and was it ever good! |

The main problem I had with DDP was: 1) Blaylock's initial run. Too many cartoon elements. 2) The obvious limiting of a story to fit it in a 4 isssue arc. 3) The abrupt end to Jerwa's run. 4) The stories had really cool build-ups, but then fell flat at the end. That can be attributed to #2 above.

Not to turn all negitive, but the shipwreck/covergirl thing was taken from sunbow. It was never fleshed out but if you watch the episode where the joes go to the movie set it's pretty obvious a few times.
Generally I dispise the DDP run but it had a few moments, here are some of mine. Zanya Rey Destro's Son Mayday Billy Grown up The whole "Next Generation" crop of characters. |
