To be honest, I will probably drop my subscription to the IDW main Joe comic and move over to the RAH comic. Not sure about origins, but might drop it too. But I would keep up with Cobra. But I do hope having some competition in IDW that the main Joe comic will pick up the pace, start fleshing out stories, and allow the reader to feel like they are going somewhere. The latest issue was a waste of my time.

Them? How about us? Buying comics ain't cheap anymore and I don't feel like spending $20 a month just on Joe titles I'll read in under an hour.

With ARAH they're now splitting the readership. I know they're HOPING that everyone that reads IDW Main would read Origins, Cobra AND ARAH. But we know well some will do that, most will pick one or the other.

Break free from the chains of continuity my brothers and sisters.
I implore you... let not changes in continuity trouble you. We each create our own realities. If you wish the DDP series to still exist than make it so! If you wish for it to be null and void, then let it be so. Find your fate, choose your own adventure, create your own destiny! |

Agreed that there's too many titles now. I honestly think Hama's return to ARAH will push the new Joe title to move along faster. Otherwise, people are just gonna leave it. (Yes, #17 was really disappointing).
I think Origins should either disappear or just become more sporadic, where a backstory can shed light on something happening on the main book, like the Origins issue highlighting Mainframe. And don't get me wrong: I love Cobra, it's the best we're getting. But at some point it too is gonna run its course & the main Joe title needs to run things. |

With CC and Serpentor showing up in Cobra and how the Cobra organization is run being shown in Cobra, what is there to show in the main book? That could be a reason why IDW Main is so slow. It has to let Cobra set things up. It can't show Cobra Commander in Main if he's set to debut in Cobra. Same with Serpentor and everything else. If the organizational layout is shown in Cobra, then it can't in Main and Main has to make due and not get to plot points that could possibly reveal something from Cobra before it's time.

Joe Cobra is an excellent book. I was ecstatic when it got bumped to monthly. Joe Origins, well.....meah.....it can go.
The regular Joe book is good and I will continue to buy that. The new ARAH book is classic and I must have that. I think these 3 series should satisfy the entire fan base. As far as DDP goes....it was okay but I am really glad that it got pushed to the side. Just like the new series, it will take a different path in Joe history which is okay. The only book I look to for continuance of the classic is the one Larry is doing. I want him to FINISH his story..... |

THey should have just started off with the end of DDP, I read the book for 20 some years, and when they scrapped the continuity I dropped it. Im not interested in this if it contradicts DDP.
If they get to issue 255, I might check it out in Trades. gonna suck if they get to 165 and say okay end of story. and we scrapped all of the DDP stuff for 10 more issues. GI Joe declassified Snake Eyes Declassified Master and Apprentice scrap those stories? no thank you |

This reminds me of the early 90's, when they decided to split the X-Men into the Blue and Gold teams (X-Men and Uncanny X-Men)
Marvel had thought (and on a certain level, were right) that fans would buy both titles. Personally, I kept up with only X-Men Blue, cause luckily they had placed all the X-Men I didn't care about on one team, and my faves on the other. However even when comics were only a buck 25-75 I limited myself. Now with the economy and single issues going for what? 4 bucks or more? (I've been out of comics for a while) IDW decided to hedge bets that MOST people will go the old route and still buy all series? I wouldn't buy stock in that. and I'd be ready for one or the other to be cancelled by years end... Maybe even all the smaller extra titles to make up for the price of printing a new full run comic, with a big loss of title readership
