Just asking for an opinion no flaming please.
The new comic feels dull very, very dull...does anyone else get the same feeling?

I stopped buying the IDW comics long ago, because they all just felt like they were going nowhere. The only series that I even enjoyed slightly was the Chuckles spy series.

Nope, I think it's starting to pick up. I'm a fan of the long reveal and build-up. They got a great sense of time on the missions, which is huge to me. And can definately tell that it's building towards something big.
The gold standard of Joe comics to me is the Marvel Special Missions. IDW is doing a good job of getting to that point, not quite there yet.

I've enjoyed them thus far.... but maybe its because I only go to the comic shop once every two months or so, by the time I get there I have a stack waiting on me and I read them all at the same time.

I enjoy them. The payoff will be huge and will be well rewarded when it happens....and it will happen. They are building up the characters and doing a damn good story. This type of stuff takes time.

I only buy the tradebacks, so they're fun to read that way...in bulk.

I agree, i was skeptical at first... oh here we go again, someone else's idea of GI Joe, but the recent adventure with Beach Head and Tripwire was perfect. i loved every panel of it. Mainframe's triumphant return to the pitt after being gone so long... Scarlett putting it all on the line for her belief's... the nuances they are adding to once flat characters... (T-rats constant book reading/ huge level of general knowledge). I agree they may have started off on the wrong foot. but they have more than made up for it in my eyes.
I also go to the Comic book store quarterly for my books and read a bunch in one go. It's like getting a fix. I also like Peter David's X-Factor the last few years. In fact i liked it enough i passed on the latest deadpool run (budget constraints)... and Deadpool was a favorite of mine long before he took off a few years ago. Way back when he was just pain in the arse for X-Force! |

I think the main problem is since they have the ongoing Origins series happening at the same time, they can't get ahead of themselves. So in the end they're just trolling around at a snails pace and waiting to see what they can use from the Origins Series. And Origins isn't adding much new either. But the last Beachhead Tripwire was a great issue IMO. And I too like the Build up, but I wish more would happen in the actual comics as far as time passing. I would love a few just one adventure in only one issue, instead of the 4-8 comic draw out of the whole getting to the bottom of Cobra.
Maybe Origins needs to decide who will make their roster in the end, and let the main series guys know and let them go to town. |

The only problem I have is they are not putting out new issues fast enough.
