Issue 19 was good enough to push IDW from 'Dump @20' to 'Trade wait after 20'

I am fixin to cancel and quit picking them up. That comic is horrid and too damn slow. If there ain't no action now... there won't be for another year and to pay 4.00 a comic for that crap is a load of BS!

all the IDW stuff is complete trash ...minus the COBRA run. I'm done with it all, even the Hearts & Minds series i think sucks after even only one book. I tried for a long time now with very open mind and it just plain sucks horribly. goodbye IDW, wish I never started.
ps - like everyone else in this thread, i'm selling all my IDW comics, anyone interested?? Last edited by Mr. Gone; 06-24-2010 at 08:39 PM.. |

for 3.99 a pop there should be something more. More story, better art. Get a bigger name artist for a run every now and again, instead of having plain vanilla artists.
Lets take the whole Dixon and Hama thing again and talk about the deaths. Hama made us care about deaths that happened early on-and even later. Joes got mowed down and besides battleforce 2000 (minus Dodger), I thought they weren't for the sake of having deaths or having a selling point. I may be wrong but they read much better than Bazooka's idw death. Bazooka dying...who cares??! seriously, barely introduced before, if at all, then has some time in the comic and is killed all in one issue. woop-dee-doo. so cobra agents are dangerous, we get it, already done much better with the snake eyes fight or even more recently with the cover girl/tripwire training session gone wrong. if only there wasn't the horrid stench of fecal matter that is the mass device lingering... Anyway, Hama one-ups Dixon's Bazooka death with the death of Sneak Peak-that issue is super solid and a bummer for Dusty. While nowhere near as bad as the cartoon, there were plenty of cheesy stuff in the original Hama run-and I don't deny it but it's not over-bearing or so bad that it's unreadable (not until after issue 119 or so). I don't put all the blame on him because sometimes he didn't have much to work with from hasbro, however, when he made it work, he made it REALLY work. He made the characters memorable and made you care about them, for the most part. His military knowledge is always a nice extra touch to his Joe stories. Dixon just seems out of his element and not sure what he wants to do. The story has meandered, for every good point and moment, there's twice as many which are bad. the main title reads like bad fan-fiction and the mediocre art by both artists doesn't help. i've seen robert atkins' pencils and they're solid but something is lost in translation with the inking and coloring. happens a lot in comics, unfortunately. I'll take Arashikage mindsets, robots, everyone having a connection to the Arashikage clan, ninja Firefly, mohawked Zartan, nanobots, Ninja Force and brain wave scanners ANY DAY over mass device. and people complained about DDP? hell, they had better art and a handle on the characters, even if some of the stories at times weren't that great. America's Elite would have been an easy A during Joe Casey's run if there hadn't been the zombie Snake Eyes part.

Saw the series for the first time today at a shop. Flipped through several issues and it looked boring. Yes. I didn't actually read it, but it did not look interesting enough for me to spend $4.
I picked up the Special Missions book instead. (The new one, not the Marvel compilation) |
