Too many long boxes to count (34-37 i think), 85% is marvel, all comics are bagged and boarded, TPBs are in their own long boxes, graded comics are on shelves on modified plate displays, all long boxes have plastic comic dividers with label maker labels on each tab.
All comics are cataloged on the pc. If the comic is a saga/story arc as in civil war, knightfall, mutant massacre, there is a reading order usually with the 1st issue of the series. All boards are listed with date of release for said boarded comic.

I have three short boxes. The first two and about half of the third are filled with all the issues I have of various series (Batman, Spawn, Spider-Man, etc.) I have them organized more by character than specific title, as for characters with multiple titles I may not have enough individual issues to give it its own section. So for the example, the section labeled "Batman" has issues of Batman, Detective Comics, Legends of the Dark Knight, Shadow of the Bat, etc.)
The second half of the third box is basically a Miscellaneous section, filled with just random issues of various single titles, maybe a couple 2-issue mini-series from a title I don't have a section for, and some TPBs. I also have a fourth box, but it's mostly filled with issues and such that I've been planning to get rid of for sometime, but just haven't gotten around to yet. I have long boxes and few short boxes. They stay in a cedar closet in the upstairs hall. I organize them in different ways. I have 1 long box full of GIJoe comics and 1 1/2 of uncanny xmen. Half of one full of other mutant comics (xfactor, excalibur, new mutants, etc...) and a tone of amazing spiderman from 80s and early 90s. The rest are random stuff I like (Groo, Peter Porker, Cloak and Dagger, Crumb and others. I think I go by series then theme.

Currently?
A mess. I used to have everything in such order. About the only things I can say is in order are the following. -G.I. Joe (Marvel) the original series intermixed with Special Missions and all the other books from that run are in one long box. -G.I. Joe (DDP, IDW and others) All in order in another long box except maybe a few newer issues. -Transformers (All) Any TF series in one long box...I'm gonna need a second one. -X-Books...I was big time into the X-Titles from X-Cutioners Song until just around the time of that book where they were looking for Destiny's phropcies. -2099 In order by title and month...actually all my books are like that. -Marvel UK The line basically supported by the DHII character -Old School Image books. -Stranger In Paradise The rest of my titles...GL, New Warriors, Avengers, Thunderbolts, ANYTHING else is just tossed in boxes in no order. I am so ashamed. |

I store 90% of my comics digitally. My Joe comics consist of 2 DVDs (1 for Marvel and other vintage, the 2nd for DDP, IDW, etc). I have 3 mid-length boxes in my closet for my other stuff (1 box just for Captain America) but I'll be editing that once I set-up the digital files for many of them. My physical Joe comic collection is mostly 'reader' issues (dinged up comics) that I keep in the bathroom for reading material on the throne.

my comic collection is still in it's pre-pubescent stage. I have a feeling it will only get bigger. Origins has really sparked my interest and I'm absolutely loving reading them
right now I don't even have enough to fill a small box...so storage is a non-issue Last edited by Redredly; 06-29-2010 at 06:12 PM.. |

All filed according to issue and release date:
Marvel - Long box and plastic sleaved DDP - 2 Long boxes IDW - Round file... No... Just kidding. I've actually scanned all my comics and have since sold them. Anything I get new gets scanned and resold.
