I'm sorry...while I understand and even except that MAYBE Joe needed a reboot not that I wanted one, I have to say BORING.
In all of Origins and the Main book I actually like the spin on Cobra but my god nothing and I mean NOTHING has happened in like a years worth of story. The one positive I can give the relaunch is the Cobra title which fizzled as well. See now that book could have dragged out further but was rushed into a few issues. I'm not saying IDW has dropped the ball, but for god's sake boys pick up the pace a bit. You know funny thing is I'm having the same issue with the TF books as well...I have to re-read each and every series to figure out what the hell is actually happening. |

I'm enjoying the series. It did take awhile to get started, but that was intended to create anticipation. It also created a really cool feeling for me the first time I saw a person on the cover with a Cobra symbol on his arm. It took time, but they're getting there and it's been a fun ride so far.

i hate the trade-paperback style of storytelling. i buy the comic and love the joe universe and the comic itself is getting better but i wish dixon (or editorial) would allow more to happen per issue. especially at 3.99 a pop. the cobra mini was da bomb. and origins has been good for the most part with issue six being the exception... and maybe hama's current arc. but there's a lot to look forward to. the one-shots of origin coming up sound great and max broooks writing a mini has me stoked.

Keep in mind it took Marvel 10 or 11 issues to get Joe straightened out and on the path to becoming a great series.
While I understand the anticipation of cobra, I enjoy the interactions between the main cobra players too much. I say get to it! |

I jumped on this when IDW relaunched the series last year(?). But in a short amount of time I just lost interest. I know they're building story, but you can't justify so many issues where nothing really happens. It appears even comic books have been overtaken by the "Lost" methodology where the "Mystery" is the story and everything else including characters, storyline, reality, takes a back seat while we wait and wait and wait for something, eventually, to happen.

I also don't like the tags the the new Joes get either like "Snake", "Block", "Beach" or "Ship" instead of thier full codenames.
The coldheartedness of the Joe team seems waaaaaaay from the type of team I liked and want to read about also. Personally, I've prefered the Brandon Jerwa stories most since the Marvel run. I'd say Snake Eyes #2 could be the one that pushed me to this conclusion (I thought it was awful)....I hope the next issue, whatever I read in the series, is good or I'm thinking I'm out. |

Oh the Snake Eyes book is awful...pure and simple awful...its like they took that old filler issue of the Marvel run #119 and made it a full mini series.
For those scrambling to remember #119 from yojoe.com.... The Joes discover that Cobra's been manufacturing robot lookalikes of world leaders, celebrities, and other important people -- including some of the Joes. Last edited by Owner of a Lonely B.A.T.; 11-30-2009 at 09:31 PM.. |

I'm liking the IDW Ongoing G.I.Joe story better than the associated minis. Even though the story has been quite slow moving.

I don't classify the RoC books, the Snake-Eyes series by Van Hook and Park, as part of the IDW Joeverse. Haven't even read the Snake-Eyes series.
