Who is the best live action punisher?
Dolph Lundgren- Was ok for the time. Thought it was a good movie. However, the acting was kind of one sided. Thomas Jane- This one was the best in my opinion. Played the family man and then went dark very good. To me this is a variant to John Bernthal's. Ray Stevenson- Forget this one. Fun to watch when your bored. John Bernthal- This dude played him really well and is one of the best. Comparing him and Thomas Jane is like comparing Keaton to Bale as batman in my opinion. Thomas Jane was the best but John Bernthal comes really close.

Bernthal, but it's a kinda unfair comparison since he got two complete seasons of a TV show and several episodes of Daredevil season 2 to develop the character whereas the others just got a movie.

Think I agree about Jane. Bernthal was a much more humanized take. Jane was postured to be an angel of death. Kept his emotional entanglements to a minimum. More Frank Castle to me, even though Bernthal's DD season was wonderfully constructed.

few things.
it took me a very long time to notice that dirty naked sewer punisher lundgren's dirty face make up was in the shape of a skull. thomas jane is punisher for me. it was filmed in tampa in an area i really like to travel around in; even before the movie was made. (which is saying alot because tampa over all is a shithole and i hate that city) not only that, but he was super into making a sequel until that garbage one was made and wasnt going to change to things he preferred for punisher. then for practically no money he made "dirty laundry" which was also really good. not into the cia thing, but for the most part his version is solid. where the other actors are acting, i believe he comes from a place where he was really interested in the character he was playing. you dont really get that much. i dont like bernthal. i just finished daredevil before netflix loses it, and im starting punisher next. im not looking forward to it. but, i'd rather watch it than defenders, jessica jones and iron fist. i wish thomas jane would be punisher again. |

While I like Bernthal as an actor, I'm not crazy about him as the Punisher. He is way too small a guy (175 lbs +/-) with the smallest shoulders I've ever seen. I'm sorry, but he is not intimidating at all. I voted for Ray Stevenson.

You should've gone with Dolph. He's the biggest.

Bernthal is coming back to play him. I wish they did that What If when the punisher becomes Venom and he had guns coming out all over his body.
