So it took me 2 months to read through all of Classic GI joe 14 and I picked up 15 today. I open up the first page and now it labels it as Star Brigade and it looks like it is that way for the next several issues. WTF is going on? Can't I just read a normal GI Joe issue without all of the gimmicks again? No wonder the series was canceled at 155.

I always surmised that the book's sales were struggling at the time, so they were trying to spike some interest. The actual Star Brigade toys had their logo featured more prominently than "GI Joe", so to keep with branding they did the same in the comics.
Star Brigade's not well remembered, but I think their stories in the comics were rather entertaining. Much better than the endless Silent Castle stuff that had been running in the comics since issue 125 or so. The comic was cancelled because the entire line (toys and merchandise) was being phased out. Had the line kept going, the comic would've been there as part of the marketing. The line began to dry up in the spring of 1994, so it's somewhat noteworthy that the title ran until the fall (September or early October, I believe).

I thought the absurd concept of a GI Joe 'space unit' was integrated into the comic remarkably well.

Yeah, now that I have gotten through all three parts, I thought it was really well done. Actually, forget that, did they just kill off Darklon like a bitch?
BTW, what happened to the doctor Megatron took off with?

Doctor Biggles-Jones was never seen in G.I. Joe again. That storyline was meant to try to jumpstart Transformers again, but that never happened.
She did show up in DDP's run, during America's Elite I believe, but it was an off-panel thing when the Joes captured a Cobra Hospital and she was there unconscious or sick or something. And it didn't happen in the main book but Special Missions or something like that. |

SO we have no idea what actually happened to her then?
Not cool, but oh well. She could have been an interesting character if they actually had done something with her. Well I've got 4 issues left to read and I cannot wait to see how this series ends (although, since it was abruptly canned, it probably just leaves off like a normal issue, hopefully not in a story arc). I liked the whole story of CC thinking he could take on Snake-Eyes, and then Flint throwing CC off the bridge. Not sure what I think of them brainwashing everyone though, especially Billy and Storm Shadow.

I wouldn't mind it if the new ARAH comics put out by IDW featured story arcs centered on specific sub-lines and waves of figures. I think that would be cool.

Huh, this is interesting. I have two issues left, and the last one was a stand alone about Scarlett, and the next one is a stand alone with Roadblock. I cannot wait to finish it, but now I'm wondering how the hell they are going to finish all of the open plotlines in one issue.

Is it Scarlett taking on a super-BAT? I have that issue. Never realized that it was the second to last in the series. I might have the Roadblock one too, now that I think about it.
