hey now. so, i am working on completing my Joe comic collection, and i'm running into an issue. does anyone here have, or know of a complete checklist of all the comics (multiple versions from the same year, etc) from all the JoeCons? it looks like they started in 01, did one in 02, skipped 03?, did 2 in 04, skipped 05 to 07?, then did 2 a year since 09. is this all correct? any help is appreciated. thanks!

the collector's club did con comics every year from '08 to this year (afaik, there was one this year.) they also did 2 other comics before that, which weren't con comics.
that's all Yo Joe has listed in their comic archive and nothing is mentioned about comics in the boxsets from '02 to '07. Canadian Joe Con did comics in 2009, '10, '11 and '12. dunno about any other cons having comics. I own the 2010 to 2012 Canadian ones and the American ones from 2009 to 2013. |

When you're talking about the early 2000s' con comics, I'm assuming that you're talking about the DDP preview comics? The GIJCC / Fun Publication comics that have come out the past 7 years have been pretty consistent (with a previous 2-part comic set). I've never acquired the Canadian con comics. They seemed too much out of the current continuity - since there's no mention of a Canadian Joe branch in any other media. If I knew where to purchase these comics, though, I'd probably order them to complete my collection and check out the material to see how it is...

3 years ago the started a sci-fi convention here in Nova Scotia Canada. Its held in our capital city Halifax. Hence the name Halcon.
Last year they had a limited edition g.i joe vs. Transformers comic for sale to attendees. On the cover art work it had transformers longing around an iconic area in the city called Citadel Hill. There are also a bunch of comics out there from the Canadain joe con that is held every year in Ontario. Quite often the comics are apart of a canadian joe con set that retails for 400$ +. In fact i know and have bought figures from one of the guys who runs the Toronto Joecon. There not hard to get, you just gotta know where to look. LOL There are tons of obscure g.i joe comics you can collect from conventions you might not even know about. It all depends how crazy you wanna get with your collecting. Being from Canada, I can find and have some conections i can hit up for info. and possible the comics themselves ? I myself only own 1 comic book. Its g.i joe a real american hero # 181 Larry Hama sketch variant cover. Signed by Larry Hama at the Halcon convention.

if you get the CanaJoeCon comics, you get the canucklehead strips from the pdf newsletter. the 2010 and 2011 comics contain the newsletter strips in addition to new material related to that year's con set. the 2009 comic is solely new material, as is the 2012 one.
you could try the website for Bounty Hunter Toys for the comics, its run by The Mike from Joe Canuck who ran the cons. |
