Is only a few months away. For those that haven't tried it recently-you might want to give it another shot. The last few issues have been both complex and full of obscure characters. My favorite version of Joe on the market!

I will buy the mag until Hama stops writing it. Having said that, I really only enjoy it for nostalgia's sake. Dropping random characters into the mag without developing them is not good writing. I teach pre-writing/planning to my students; to know that Larry writes off the cusp ("one day...hmmm...CC decided to attack the pit for the 25th time...") makes me cringe. Oh, and by the way...spoiler alert: that's EXACTLY what CC is doing ONCE AGAIN, heading into #200... :(
Was Hama successful? Sure...he had some fantastic story arcs that made my toy childhood what it was. But if you look at the work as a whole--and you have to include Firefly's cheerleading pyramid of arashikage death if you do--then you can see that a few great ideas do not make up for an otherwise lackluster combination of story lines, oft repeated. Not to contradict myself here, but let me make something clear: I own every volume, including his IDW continuation...and will be buying all the regular HC versions, too. I also can't wait for #200 to come out. But nostalgia is the main reason...which adds 500% to the enjoyment of repeated reading, in my case. But to defend the work as a whole to the general population? Hard to do...especially with quality work out there now, like the Walking Dead. I read both mags (WD and Joe) to my son (a fellow Joe fan and customizer)...and he puts up with the Joe mag, and can't wait for the WD mag (albeit, I read it to him edited). So there ya have it. My 11 year old can clearly see the difference.

The last couple storylines have been great.
The Walking Dead quality? That's funny. Now granted, I'm only on Volume 5 and have heard it gets better, but I did read #100 and it didn't get better.

I've been with walking dead since issue one but it doesn't hold a candle to arah.

I want more red shadows! I know very little about them. I still hope cobra wins in 200. I doubt it will happen but I'd love them infiltrating our country slowly over the years like they planned back-in-the-day.

I think arah is better now than it has been for years. I really don't know what to expect!

ARAH was up and down for awhile, since it came back. Good storyline, bad storyline (Dark Snake Eyes). Ever since the Blue Ninjas (bad storyline) it's been awesome.
