LOL I wish my wife would let me play D&D! ( well I do what I want , but she would never stop taunting me if I played an RPG with my friends!) |

Speaking to a much broader point of cost, most "floppy" comics these days are prohibitvely expensive compared to what we grew up with (not just those published by IDW, but Marvel, DC, Dark Horse, and Image as well). At $3.99 for 22 pages, that's a far cry from the 60 cents per issue GI Joe comics cost back in the 1980s. Some people say that the alleged slower pacing of today's writing cuts into the value of the comics, but even if today's writers managed to maintain the brisk pacing of 1980s comics writing, I still wouldn't be willing to shell out $3.99 a month per title.
Sure, the quality of the paper and the colouring is better, but it's a lot harder to justify spending $3.99 on a monthly comic than it is on, say, a $20 trade paperback collecting 10 issues. |

Actually I've found the new Joe title to be seriously lacking, compared to Marvel or DDP. IDW seems to be trying to pass G.I. Joe off as Alias or the Bourne Identity. It's just too boring, and what's with the absence of any major COBRA villains. We see Destro, but dressed in plain clothes? I stopped buying after issue #2. When I see COBRA Commander, Storm Shadow, Zartan, the Dreadnoks, some Vipers or CGs or B.A.T.s, or a HISS tank battalion I'll put my money down, but so far I do NOT like the direction IDW is taking G.I. Joe.

Hey kids, I just wanted to see if anyone else agrees with me regarding the new ongoing joe titles. Personally, I do not think the store is " That gripping" or different from anything DDP did. Also, is it me or is 3.99 for a lot of ads and maybe a few pages of stories plus the 3 or 4 titles going at once, is just a little too much right now.
Don't get me wrong ,I want to read these stories but as I did with all the DDP, I wait for the 15.00 trade paper backs, I hate having thousands of comics around the house, the TPB you can put nicely on a bookshelf. By the way the Marvel reprints are awesome, I hope they comtinue. Anyone?
