I was curious if Marvel still ran the GI Joe comic series during the DIC era of the cartoon. I know Image( the comic publisher that made Spawn) had made a comic run of GI Joe there for a while. I was just curious.

the Marvel comic ran as long as the ARAH line: 1982 to 1994. Image's comic came after, in the mid-late 1990s.

That's what I thought. In the tv ads for the comic post animated movie Pre DIC,the animation they used was amazing(being Sunbow).I remember being totally let down when I saw the DIC version of GI Joe.

Correction, image didn't start til 2000,2001. But yeah if you read the entire original run, things do get weirder and almost DIC quality at some points.

It always freaked me out that the Image line premiered on September 12, 2001. Yeah...one day after 9/11.
Don't usually recall the release dates of other books, but because of 9/11 and GI Joe's role as a "counter terrorism unit", this one will always stick with me.

Yeah, I remember that too. A bitter irony. It was nice that the next issue was dedicated to the victims and their families.
