Went to pick up my comics today and found this bad boy! Get it while it's hot! The bernie wrightson muck monster and thrill kill sold out fast!!!
For $50 you get cover + 22 page story. The story pages are awesome... understandably this is all inked work, but on one side is the inked + text and the other side of each sheet is the virgin inked art! These days artists that used mixed digital/traditional methods sometimes end up with 3 physical versions of a page... small thumbs, pencils over scanned/zoomed blue line print out of thumbs and ink over scanned blue line print out of pencils.

I've definitely considered buying this book! I like Golden's art.

It's not so much a book... but really an artist portfolio with 23 loose 11x17 double sided sheets. One side has the text "glued" and the other has it "removed".
I've attached some scans. Definitely worth it if you are fan of his art. I collected the Nam so I had to get this. I'd love it for a Mike Zeck GI Joe set to come out! Or the Mike Zeck Punisher set. Not sure if this is the right way to link to an album... HissTank.com - G.I. Joe - Torrance Joe's Album: IDW Artist Edition Portfolio

I bought Michael Golden's GI Joe Yearbook Artist Edition Portfolio. I skipped the Neal Adams and Bernie Wrightson portforlio but I could not pass this up. I'm really digging this format.
It's fantastic looking! According to Scott Dunbier at WonderCon, the person that bought the entire original pages had them restored. The wordballoons were originally pasted onto the pages but were removed and placed on an acetate overlay so you can see it lettered and unlettered. For the portfolio, one side is lettered and the other side of the page is not. It's pretty neat! |

Does anyone know the difference between the black cover vs the green cover?

Black cover is general release. Green cover is the "limited" and will be available at a later date with the seperate interior sheet signed by Michael Golden and have a low print run. Last edited by Kaedryl; 06-14-2013 at 09:51 AM.. |
