loved it. surprised there isn't a 'reader's link for it yet in the main area. i really liked the Cobra series with Chuckles and this is right back in familiar ground. i wouldn't mind them doing small blurbs about where specific stories can be found- for example when Xamot (or Tomax) is blackmailing clockwork about the mission involving the OG- a little box saying- g.i.joe issue 42) or something would be nice- i dropped all the joe books mid-civil war but am trying them again with this new soft-boot... so missing details like that really throw me off... i was really happy with this issue- action, plotting.... romance (! uh-oh) great first(again) issue

Yep. I was thinking, while reading it, that Chameleon is the new Chuckles. She's my favorite Joe character, for sure...

I really like this book. I mean originally it starred Chuckles - little obscure for sure, but Chuckles has his fans. Now it is starring Chameleon. That is insane - - a one off action figure that I think only existed b/c Hasbro has some issues with the Baroness trademark.
Also excited to see Billy seemingly coming back. |

Just finished reading #3 & 4, and I am really enjoying this series. There is one thing that kinda seems forced, though, and that's the overabundance of female Joes. I can't be the only one that has noticed this. Not trying to be sexist, as there have always been female members, but it seems like they are getting a REALLY strong PC-type push for some reason. Dial Tone and Doc are now female, Chameleon, Ronin.....plus mainstays like Lady Jaye and Scarlett. Is this just this arc that is so female-biased?

10 plus years late but I just read Cobra Files haha! Without boring everyone with my life story, I've just been out of comics and collecting for a while. I left to become an "adult" around 2005 (graduated college but reserve unit was activated and deployed to Iraq, came back in 2007) and ended up in a one stop light town in 2009 living with roommates and just didn't have the time or space to enjoy those things.
Anyway, I really enjoyed this series so far. I read TPB #1 and #2 that I just chanced upon in a local comic shop. I have no idea how long the run is and if it's enough to be collected in another volume. Some things that immediately surprised me were how gritty it was. Copperhead was never a "main" face character but his page time was pretty non existent before he was killed. I like the new character ideas behind Chameleon and Clockspring but Ronin I felt could have just been Jinx. Perhaps Clockspring was also redundant as theoretically an older Sci-Fi or even one of the MPs could have been used in that role with modernized training in IT skills and put to use in an analytical sense. Trojan, I haven't made it that far yet but I don't mind tiny spoilers. It was odd to see Firefly being made black as well, but being away from comics for so long I didn't know what the precedent was. I don't know what "canon" or "verse" Cobra Files is supposed to be - so I just view it the same as something similar to an MCU revision. I was shocked to see Tomax was working for the Joes but it was obvious he would betray them. The major dislike for me was the art. Not that it was dark and shadowy, but I guess to me the human forms were not very detailed. |

The writer was expressing a fetish, perhaps.
