Being honest... I may have read less then 10 comic books in my 35 years on this earth. I have always admired the art and love GI Joe, so I figure I would give the comic thing a chance.
I used to have 3 or 4 issues of GI Joe that had a dossier for Snake Eyes and others. I really enjoyed those. Can someone point me in the direction of which comic series those were? Also I would appreciate some suggestions on others GI Joe comics that are well recieved. Thanks! |

It sounds like you're talking about "Order of Battle", which collected the file cards for the figures, plus vehicle specs different from the blueprints included with the toys. As far as comics go, everyone will have different opinions, but the '80s Joe comic really hit its stride in the 30s through the 80s. You really need to start at the beginning to figure out what happens later, though. The continuation of the ARAH comic is pretty good, I don't read the other Joe titles.

The IDW Cobra series is great! Start from the beginning with Chuckles.

The original G.I. Joe Special Missions by Hama. Great stand alone stories. Every issue would make a great movie. Especially the earlier ones.

Amazon.com: G.I. Joe: Special Missions (4 Volume Set) (9781613771587): Larry Hama, Herb Trimpe, Dave Cockrum: Books
That's the entire run.

Yes, definitely pick up the Special Missions series. They're mostly self contained stories with lots of action, humor, and thought-provoking concepts. Some of Larry Hama's best work, IMHO.

Personally, I think you should dip your toes into the IDW stories. Here is a good place to start, if you like it message me, and I'll message you a list of the IDW books in order.
