Todd McFarlene is doing an in-store at Midtown Comics downtown location. You can get two pieces signed my question is what should I get signed:
AOS #300, (the first appearance of Venom,) Fred's Marvel poster which includes the autograph's of Chris Claremont, Mark Texeria, and Jim Lee

I'd do ASM #300 personally. Will there be a COA though?? Take pics if you can incase you plan to sell or send it in for CGC.

An "unconfirmed" signature is actually looked upon as damage to a comic, much like a kid writing his name on it (for example). Sorry if you knew that already, but I figured I'd throw it out there. Last edited by Cobra Terrorist; 11-23-2012 at 09:44 PM.. |

I assume so. When Jim Lee did his in-store two years ago for the Icons coffee table book, I got one. The shit in my collection isn't for sell. I just like having my stuff autographed because it's going to hella cool when I eventually get the piece frame and it's hanging on my wall. However, I do plan to take some pictures. I wouldn't send it in to CGC, I'm anti-CGC and I feel as if they've fucked the secondary market by artificially inflating the price of comics. $1000 for a graded mint copy of AOS 300, $10,000 for a graded mint copy of AOS 129, $1,000,000 for Amazing Fantasy 15? GTFOH. Why buy that much when I can get good copies of those books are available for ungraded? Plus I actually read my books from time to time.

I vote 300 as well.
Not sure why I just think if I had the choice I would go with that. |

I'd get 298 signed myself. His first Spidey art, yet it isn't the high value book of 299, 300, or 301......

That was basically my first thought. Getting a signature is great for sentimental value (if you NEVER plan to sell it), but it actually might hurt the value if you have no COA/proof, etc.

On Thursday, I went to the Todd McFarlane in-store at Midtown Comics. After buying $70 for an over-priced coffee table sketch book, then standing in line for three hours, I have to say it was well worth the effort. Dude was hella cool, when I said that his art style was the first one I was able to recognize on site, coincidentally he just came from an interview where he said that one of his goals as an artist was to have a distinguishable style.
When I asked him were there any plans for a Spawn movie reboot, he said, "yes," but the the inflection and tone of his voice, led me to believe that he was just saying yes for the fuck of it. If McFarlane is coming to your area to promote the The Devil in Details, book, I'd suggest you got it's well worth it. McFarlane signing the Spidey poster I took y'alls advice and had McFarlane sign AOS 300 Rex and Todd McFarlane Signed Spidey poster Signed Spidey 300
