That's funny, I just finished reading that a few minutes before coming to the Tank. Topless Robot is a cool site. I actually have a buddy who freelances for them. This was a good list and I realize it's meant to be fun but I've always thought it was unfair to compare the cartoon and comic. They were never really designed to appeal to the same audience. Obviously there would be some overlap but the cartoon was pretty much for children where the comic was a little more sophisticated and meant for a slightly older crowd. Niether one is better, they both accomplished what they set out to, just in different arenas. I'm a fan of both, but it's kind of apples and oranges. The comics are "better" if you like a more complex story. If not, the cartoon would appear "better."
I also don't think it's fair to compare the 80s cartoon to the current comics. The comic landscape has changed alot and the Devil's Due books were aimed squarely at adults. |

First off, I love both the comic and cartoon and feel they both have their own place and shouldn't be compared. Especially since there were many things that couldn't be done in the toon due to "concerned parents" involving touchy subjects like bullets come out of guns and people being killed in war (That stuff could warp our fragile minds )
Also have to say that I'll nit-pick stuff so with that said, here's my two problems with that article: 1. Who says GI Joe needed to be changed into the Snake-Eyes show? 2. They reference the new comic talking about CC almost starting WW3, yet they conviently forget about the newer comic crossover with Transformers that DOES include Cobra La and the original GI Joe in the same book. Other than that, yeah the guy's spot on and I have to agree with him |

That was an awesome list and mostly true!
I agree that the toon didn't need to be the Snake Eyes show, but I would have liked to see more of him and his potential. I actually strayed away from the comic when it became all Ninja all the time. I thought, though, that DDP did an awesome job picking up where Hama let off. |

I wrote an article similar to this way back when Beckett put out a magazine (that sold poorly) for the TCG that had come out around then. I like this guy's points as well.
But the cartoon ain't all bad, it had fun stuff in it. |

I agree with the 8 reasons. the cartoon was directed towards kids and have to admit it kept me entertained during my youth!
as for the comics I never really read the Marvel run, I do own the Image run and ddp comics.
