The Dreamwave WW2 story. Never thought of anyone doing that kind of crossover, modern lines in a historic era and they pulled it off. The designs on the Joe's & TF was cool. Hope they get a chance to finish the rest of the Divided Front series.

I voted the WWII Crossover. I like the paperback best in Black and White. I think it's the best GI.Joe OR Transformers story ever told IMO.
Second I'd choose The GI.Joe/Transformers Gen 2 crossover. The art work at that time just kicked butt if you ask me. Great set up for Gen 2. The first Marvel crossover was the worst if you ask me. You had to read both the Joe comics, and the Transformers comics just to understand it. |

I have to say Generation II just for nostalgia factor, thats when I was still a young kid reading GI Joe (collecting the back issues too, but that was the current comic of my child hood).
But really all 4 of the Devil's Due series were just awesome. the Dreamwave ones were pretty but ehhhh... The original was okay but there was too much going on with Optimus dying, Shockwave taking over the decepticons and Cobra Commander and Destro going missing. Oh! isn't there a separate Action Force VS TF crossover from Marvel UK that was was different then the American Joe/TF crossover? Should that be counted too? |

I liked the first DDP/image series. The story balanced both franchises well and gave most of the characters a decent part to play. The artwork was nice and crisp too. In fact, this was the only one I liked...
I hated the WW2 series from Dreamwave. The art was too muddy and nothing seemed to happen. The whole thing seemed to just play off the central conceit of TF's as WWII military equipment and the actual plot barely regsitered with me.

I loved the art. It all was a little hard to make out, but every time I read it I saw something new I didin't see before. The story was the most mature for either franchise ever. That was nice for a change

This thread inspired me to take a look at the Action Force crossover... and it was nothing to write home about, I could only read pt 1 and 4 but it seems I didn't miss much inbetween.
Action Force team runs into Megatron in some tunnels and run away from him, They come up and meet with Grimlock (at this point commander of the Autobots) who fights with Megatron... Sky Strikers come too take both robots out, some other Autobot called Centurion takes Grimlock's place and gets bombed with Megatron... The end. Major Action Force players: Flint, Scarlett, Wild Bill Major Transformer players: Grimlock, Megatron, Blades, Centurion. |

Also = a surprise to me The Tank liked the WWII Transformers crossover = pleasant surprise to me *By "The Tank" I mean those who voted* |

The ACTION FORCE/TF crossover takes palce within the Marvel (UK versions) comic continuity. The UK TF continuity was a mix of UK material woven around reprinted US stories (which most people probably know).
The Megatron of "Ancient Relics" (the title of the crossover story) was originally supposed to have been 'teleported' into the London sewers when the Space Bridge blew up after his battle with the Predacons (marvel US issue #25). Of course, later on Simon Furman changed his own continuity (when he took over writing the US comic) by saying Maegatron had been shot to Cybertron in the blast. I think he explained it by saying the "London Megatron" was a 'quantum duplicate' or some such nonesense like that. It gets a bit complicated! I liked the UK story. It's simple but with an underlying theme (it's about the Centurion robot feeling useless and going out in a blaze of glory), and Geoff Senior's art is very dynamic. I don't think it deserves to be dismissed.
