I love the original Cobra series, and honestly have far more interest in the world through the eyes of Cobra than I do the Joes. I just love seeing them work in the shadows. But the whole Civil War body count bugs me for the main reason that the majority or the Joes getting wacked are nobodies. The numbers really dont impress me. I'd rather see it be pretty hard to take a Joe down versus wacking 5 that IDW just made up to get wacked. It doesnt mean anything. And lord knows there are a ton of lame Joes out there from Tracker to Windmill to Stretcher to Hardball that I wouldnt mind seeing get toasted. If IDW isnt going to use all of Hasbro's characters for the sake of focusing on the more popular ones, then fine, but make it mean something by wacking a Joe who everyone knows.
Also, every Cobra comic I have read I have downloaded via app for my iPhone. I dont bother with the actual prints as I am just in it for the story and not for collecting. Anyone else do this? |

I agree...they should use some minor "name" Joes from the past as fodder.

I think what's interesting is that the Joes are being treated almost like Vipers or Blueshirts always have been in the past. They're just cannon fodder to Cobra. This is Cobra's story.

I feel the same way on the body count. It really doesn't mean much to make up a one time character then to kill them later in the story. Kill the lame ECO warriors and nobodies that aren't going to be used anyway.

They did kill the majority of Ninja Force.
Now if they can only kill Duke, Snake Eyes, Storm Shadow and Cobra Commander. Oh wait, the big Cobra did die and we don't even get a figure of the awesome IDW Cobra Commander.

Duke has never been favorite of mine. Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow used to be favorites but they are so over used that I can't stand either one of them anymore and I usually skip over their panels without reading them. So if two more ninjas had to die it wouldn't hurt my feelings.
