I myself personally have never had a problem yet, buying from someone. When i have, everything has come mint and fast. I have always left positive feedback to the seller and have never said anything negative. To the sellers, i think you have the right to post negative feedback to the buyers, if they deserve it. I don't agree with stripping someone's right away to maybe help others to decide if they want to sell to a particular person or not...
I do see the other side of this as well, which i don't need to go in to. The fact remains that ebay is shaking things up and it will be interesting to me to see what will happen when they do... |

I think it is fair! You as a buyer as long as you pay for the item in a resonable amount of time and follow the sellers instructions you deserve a positive anyway! I bought custom radiator hoses from a really good seller but when they arrived they weren't the color I requested so i left him a neutral feedback and he left me a negative saying I didn't follow the instructions. When I put item number and color in the message notes and on the money order I did exactly as he said, don't get pissed off at me because you made a mistake!

If you are a good seller, you shouldn't even be worrying about this IMO. So, for me, I'll continue to sell on eBay.

I don't see where being a Good or Bad Seller has any relation to the other inherit problems with this system. Here's a snapshot of what I mean: I request payment within 3 days. Buyer decides that eh, I spent too much partying this weekend, so I'll wait until a payment reminder is filed against "me". That's 7 days later. The Buyer then can blow the Seller off for another 7 days, tops. So, even though my auction rules state payment is due within 3 days, the buyer just took nearly 5 times as long to pay. That being said, the only feedback that can be left for the buyer now that he/she has paid is positive...yet they can turn around and leave me a negative for filing a reminder against them....is that fair? |

^ good point Erick, I think it all depends on the situation. If you don't intend to pay until an action is taken against you then you deserve a negative as a buyer.

In some ways, this new rule is both good and bad.
An example of the Good I won an auction for a set of wave 2 on Jan. 16th and still not recieved it yet, I emailed the seller about it and asked when it was shipped and I was told on the 24th. Now the auction stated it would be shipped immediately after payment was recieved, so since I won the item and paid on a Wednesday, it should have at least been shipped by Friday or the next Monday at the very latest. When this item does eventually arrive, I would leave a neutral, but from this sellers feedback I see that when a neutral is left for him/her, he/she retaliates with negative, and I don't want a negative as a buyer because the seller can't commit to their auction description. As for the Bad Now, too many buyers will try to file a PayPal claim even though they recieved their item, just because you, as a seller, can't leave negative feedback when you know the buyer is trying to scam you. All sellers will be forced to add tracking to their auctions, which, in some cases will make most people not want to buy your item because of the shipping cost. In Canada the cheapest way to add tracking to package is to send it "expedited parcel" which starts at $16.00 to the U.S. and $11.00 to Canada and if you sell a single, loose figure, noone will pay that much for shipping. |

As a seller, I follor ebays guidlines when it comes to feedback.
Feedback on the seller's part is left for the buyer the moment the item is shipped, because my part of the transaction iss over. That being said however, I plan on not offering any of my custom gear thru there after the change, because it opens the door on abuse of sellers, and there will be basically nothing we can do about it. |

It's too one-sided for my taste (even as a buyer) and I believe it will lead to a mass exodus of ebay sellers. |

you guys have obviously not been a seller for a long period of time.
there are some real dishonest people out there looking to take advantage of every technicality, trick the system and then try to scam you. i could give you a list of the stuff i've seen. |

Trust me, I've been a seller for quite some time, and have seen it all.
What's funny is I've been hosed on both sides of the system. I have a retaliatory Neg from a Seller and another from a Non Paying Bidder...hooray. |
