I believe Vala was working on the Joe line at Hasbro when those figures were released. I was pointing out that if he were still there doing the 6" figures (which he supposedly proposed), they'd likely look like what he's doing now with Valaverse, given he used those same designs on his Action Force figures. Showing Duke and Flint were to provide examples that had the "look" Action Force is "borrowing." The additional commentary about the vests was pointing out that those unrealistic vests were being utilized in his supposed "realistic" military line.
