Agreed. That was part of what I was saying. As long as we continue to buy the shit, they'll continue to raise prices/cheap out on the product.

In this case, the proven ability to sell products.
No disagreement in principle. I'll just add that we've been told repeatedly retail still decides on a product-by-product basis. Prior relationships/reputation don't seem to matter much.

Or even just toys. Prices for everything have gone up almost across the board. I'm willing to grant the toy manufacturers some leeway there when a gallon of milk went up 33% in the last several months.

Hasbro recognizes this, and takes full advantage.
Professional trust is far more important in a service provider (especially for a necessity like a good mechanic) than it is for a luxury good, but I take your point. Perhaps I overstated my point, but at least with luxury goods, we can just stop buying them if we feel they are no longer a good value.

Oh, wait, we're using less plastic, blah, blah, fucking blah...
At least the current state of shipping logistics is verifiable as true. But the other fact remains that you can't continue to raise prices and blame it on other factors (you know, cause Hasbro is a fucking victim, too), and then continue to report steady profit growth, and in some cases, record profit growth. And sure, profits should grow, but everyone is struggling and all these fuckers are still off to the races. I'm obviously digressing quite a bit here, as I'm not required to buy any of this stuff, but again, it does feel a little out of touch on their part, to say the least.
Again, costs have gone up across the board. Logistics wasn't the only shipping issue; we heard the stories of the cost of unloading shipping containers going up tenfold just a short while ago. And Hasbro looking to move production to Vietnam tells me that the increases in cost to manufacture in China are real as well. But you're absolutely right that if the price increases are due to rising costs, then profits should at best, remain the same, not go up.

Aren't you fucking glad we're here so you have someone to give your money to. We're doing you a favor by making your money off of our goods and services. It's fucking gross.
Agreed 100%. I don't know what the answer to all that is, other than to put your money where your mouth is. Hasbro only gets to fuck us over because we bend over and hand them the lube. That was what I was getting at with my emotions vs. economics argument. Bitching on message boards like this is fun, and even cathartic. But ultimately its masturbatory if all we do is go back out and buy the stuff anyway.
