Lighting is definitely a case by case subject. Currently I house my figures on low-profile floor to ceiling shelves, which only have a depth of 3". Displaying them this way means that LED spots on a ceiling track is sufficient- the shelves themselves don't over hang enough to create heavy shadows.
Were I to have deeper shelving, I'd probably augment those spotlights with LED strips, but I'd make sure to conceal them- a visible light source will distract from the intended focal point.
Finally, I'm actually a diorama guy, when I have the room to do so (I currently don't). An early display of mine was a 15'x3'x3' display housed in a glass case. Overhead tube lighting is ideal for this. I used fluorescents at the time, but I'd go LED on those were I to do it again.
As far as video is concerned, the only way I've personally been able to embed them on-site is via YouTube. There may be other ways, but I've yet to see it.
