I have been trying to avoid getting too involved in this debate for fear of coming across as pedantic, but I just can't help myself (warning, heavy elements of sarcasm are mixed in with the following points).

In reality submitting the payment and filing the return would probably only take 1 or 2 hours a month (if their international sales are so small they are willing to just turn them off possibly even less), if you consider that to be full time please allow me to send you my cv
Even a company of less than 10 people is expected to file accounts so they presumably already employ the services of an accountant or bookkeeper. Would they have to pay them more to submit these returns for them, yes, would it cost less than they are losing in profits from the missed sales, only they can answer.
I would have thought the bigger problem would be adjusting their software to collect the tax at the point of sale. Not something I am an expert in but I would have thought that any commercially available sales software in the US would have capability for it to allow for the various states sales taxes.
However...

I don't know if they even still do that, but I wonder if you went through ebay or another third party if that would work?

so the seller would only have to register their sales to ebay, and ebay would do all else
This is what I have been saying since the start of the year, if they used ebay as their point of sale then ebay would collect the tax and file the returns along with the billions of other international transactions they broker every day.

I heard Canada and Australia might have something similar in the pipeline, so MTF business is going to wind up coming down to the US and dependent territories and bog all else.
If ebay is the point of sale and collect the tax and file the return I can't see any reason why Marauder would also have to register and file the same returns.
I also heard Canada were bringing something similar in, I thought Australia brought it in a couple of years ago.

If he did that (and up-charged to cover eBay fees, lost item refund claims, and the extra work involved in maintaining a separate inventory) and limited his shipping locations to just EU countries on his account I think it could feasibly be done, just leaving the inventory hassle as the main disruption to his operations.
Unless there are other tax implications, it's something I would definitely pilot test if I were MJ, but we're on the outside looking in. Assuming he wants all the business he can get, he must have his reasons if he isn't entertaining the idea. Maybe he will, one day.
In the meantime, just plan on using either a trusted US contact or a professional re-shipping service.
You UK and EU buyers are not out of the game, you just need to work with the consequences of your UK & EU protectionist policies.
There is no need to have separate inventory, or create lots of individual listings in ebay. Buyers could order as usual from the Marauder website but the only payment method they offer to affected countries is "ebay". Once the order has been placed Marauder create a listing for the total amount (plus whatever they want to add for ebay fees) and then email the buyer the listing number so they can go to ebay and purchase it. Once payment has been received from ebay then Marauder can ship the order out as normal.
It would cost the buyer more but they can choose if they want to do that rather than pay a professional reshipper or don't know a US contact they feel they can trust.

I don't see why it would affect their economy at all, it is a barrier on imports not exports and like any VAT scheme only effectively applies to the final sale not the supply chain. The only economy affected at the moment is the US one as it is a US company losing out on sales by not addressing the issue.

The buyer is ultimately paying the tax (the seller is only administering it), and the buyer has every opportunity to vote for a party that says it will remove the tax in their manifesto. However as most buyers are used to paying customs on international purchases it won't make much of a difference to them.

There possibly is money to be made, which is why it is surprising that Marauder do not want to make it.
